More info on Cain Ackland
An athletic ruckman and key position player from Port Magpies who forced his way into the Port side for the early half of 2001, before losing his place due to ankle problems. A knee injury put him behind the eightball early in 2002 and he could not earn a senior game. In 2003 he was suffering osteitis pubis for the first two months of the season and injury meant he did not play a senior game. He played the first 17 weeks in the SANFL in 2004, but injured a knee just when he was about to stand in for the injured Brogan. At the end of the year he was delisted and picked up by St Kilda. Ackland switched to Carlton for the 2007 season.
