Reid looks like she'll be ready to play if we have to call on her. While she may have a fair bit of development still in her, she will be 28 years old by the time the season starts and ready to chuck in the ruck if need be. She looks like a bit of Mummy type ruck - hopefully has a bit of physicality and can intimidate opponents. Not going to move like a gazelle or sweep it off the turf clean and one-handed on a regular basis but has strong ruck craft and tackles well. Fills a need.

Welcome Cait!

Played 6 games in the VFLW and did well apparently. Not top flight but definitely fulfilling a need.

Great chance of getting games this year. If either of Morphett or Davies go down she could be the next cab off the rank.

To elaborate on what I said earlier about her maybe having a fair bit of development in her (which is possibly strange on its face given she's turning 28 during pre-season) what I'm saying is that just because a player is mature doesn't mean they don't still have a sizeable amount of room for improvement once they come into a professional system with access to all the resources that brings (gym, trainers, physios, coaches, full-time wage to play footy etc.). So she may surprise us and remain on the list for a while to come providing important ruck depth.

Actually I hope she ends up first cab off the rank if Morphett gets injured so that Davies can settle into a key position. I think that would benefit us a lot.

Yes, that's what I mean. I don't mean if both Morphett and Davies are injured but if either are injured. Agree that if Morphett were injured would be good for Reid to play first ruck and let Davies continue in the relief role. If Davies goes down it might be harder for Reid to win selection because there would be more alternative set-ups we could go with.

Yep, if Davies went down Hamilton would be the logical replacement if she wasn't already playing.
