There are several fire zones, beachfront Malibu properties are almost entirely gone and Pacific Palisades essentially no longer exists. Just last year State Farm Insurance cancelled the cover of 1600 home in Pacific Palisades alone.

Quite a few celebrities have lost their houses.

Still raging at 0% containment.

Twenty people so far have been arrested for burglary and looting.

The Victory Trailhead in Los Angeles is now a crime scene with one person in custody as the Kenneth Fire spirals out of control, according to NewsNation. The suspect is believed to have started the fire that has swelled to nearly 1000 acres."[LAPD] believes that someone did intentionally start it. This is now officially an arson investigation. He said this whole area behind me, the canyon behind me, they're calling now a crime scene."

Disgraceful to deliberately light fires.

Horrible for the people and families impacted, of which it’ll be far more normal folk than wealthy folk.

This is why America shouldn't waste money on weapons for the middle east. It has its own problems, people in need.
Agree but the military industrial complex's business model demands more wars. Some politicians also make considerable money from it as well.

I was wondering about that. Insurance is high enough/too high already.

The insurance price tag for the Los Angeles fires is estimated to be more than $US20 billion ($32 billion).

As California faces an insurance crisis, experts say the impacts may be felt in Australia.

Anyone old enough getting flashbacks from the Palisades fire to the Otways 1983 Ash Wednesday fire. Burnt from the forest to the beach.
Didn't Mallacoota have a fire so bad in recent history that the residents waded out into the water at the beach to escape the heat?
The sound + radiant heat from bushfires can be simply terrifying
