Which Carlton players do you think will be jumping ship at the end of the year?

Paddy Dow is out of contract at the end of the season and has been killing it in the twos but can't break into the seniors. Would he be a good top up player?
For better or worse apparently the Dogs have been keeping an eye on him.

But if he can’t nudge himself ahead of Curnow etc and particularly when Walsh was injured etc I wouldn’t hold out much hope of him making it now.

Hopefully the Hawks will have a look. 23yo VFL player can't command too much. 3rd round pick?

There is good reason why Dow isn’t playing. He is a deadset crab and simply not up to it. He is one of those that will excel at the next level down

I thought the same about Setterfield.

I'd be curious to see how Dow went somewhere that gives him midfield time. I think Carlton stamped his papers very early when he didn't dominate early, classic Carlton impatience.

Dow like Setterfield will be a good AFL mid. Nothing special but good enough for the level and certainly deserves a run at it after great VFL form.

Right now we have a far better mid in Matt Kennedy lining up at full back whilst our AA HBF splits his time between inside mid and HFF.

Shouldn’t that tell you all you need to know.

West Coast should offer to take Williams off Carlton's hands if the Carlton throw in their first pick in this year's draft. Just like the Suns did with Jack Bowes. That'd give West Coast two top 5 picks in this year's draft. Given that they'd be n rebuild mode they'd have the salary cap space to absorb Williams' hefty price tag

Jeebus, West Coast should fold if they entertain that deal.

Williams is cooked.

Probably. Just checked his age. Didn't know he was 28. Thought he was younger for some reason. Although it's not really about him. It's just about carrying him while they have the salary cap space to get in another top 5 pick. Once his contract ends they could delist him.

Their coach is a fraud , the players are frauds but still the club and their delusional supporters believe they are on the cusp of something special .

Just ANOTHER false dawn for the Carlton football club
I don't think any Carlton people believe we are on the cusp of something special any more lol

His papers have been stamped alright (for a reason), its anything but impatience though. Bloke is 23 and has played 60 games, has had a heap of chances at AFL level, just not up to it.

Great 2s player tho.

West Coast need fewer guys in their late 20s, not more

Won't they be clearing most them out over the next two years? Plus, as I said, it's not really about Williams, it's about getting another top 5 pick. Whatever Williams contributes will be a bonus.

Blues would be loathe to get rid of early draft picks and I reckon they could chop guys like Williams, Martin, Silvagni and McGovern without really missing a beat.

Curnow, Walsh, Weitering and McKay are a good core.
