Yep, that's where she started backing herself into a corner. First it was "national interest" (despite the other local carrier supporting it) then when that failed she kinda/sorta tried to bring the women detained by Qatar Airways into it.

Ironically, the more she tried to deviate away from admitting it was done to protect Qantas, the more painfully clear it became that this was the exact reason for it.
