Um yeah i wasnt talking about distance. Speed of ball through the air. His are slow loopy kicks. He aint no riccardi, issac smith or mitch duncan even though he can kick just as long.

kicking ability is the most underrated skill in football. Its staggering how undervalued it is given the game is called football. most only rank it on two criteria. Distance and accuracy arent the only criteria which we rank kicking.
You’re taking the piss, right?🤣

Squeezes into Seeds top 5 worst football opinions. A very strong list, might I add.

A blot on an otherwise flawless copybook.
It was so weird watching him run out in short sleeves that day - I forgot he was playing at times because i kept looking for the sleeves

Much happier the next week when the sleeves returned

Surely unlikely..
Listening to it again I think he was referring to the group of players that had missed some footy in the first half of the year and that they hoped would make us better in the second half - i.e. the "no guarantees" was about if we would continue to see team improvement, but that he (Max) was always in their plans.
Feeling a bit more relaxed about it now.

18 goals today, 12 wins on the trot, Cameron second in the Coleman, Hawkins third, Stengle over 40, etc etc suggests we are doing ok with how he works up and back.

I'm not sure why you're put out by any of this.
Yep, Cameron is actually wrecking the opposing team’s defensive structures by playing in such a seemingly haphazard and unpredictable way, given that he requires a key defender who is also highly mobile (eg: a Blicavs type player) he is a nightmare match up when he decides to go up the ground.

Miers, O'Connor, Z Guthrie and Rohan should be the nervous ones heading into finals.
Zuthrie Rohan I don’t think are going anywhere, both important pieces. Miers seems to be reveling in the linkup chains but is probably not as hot defensively as his slow.. so makes for an interesting one.

O’Connor should be the one on the peripheral now

Two have to make way for Smith and Duncan.

Miers delivery last night was mediocre.

Rohan isn't doing enough at the moment.

Menegola is getting slower and his awareness has followed suit.

O'Connor is probably the one who should be the most nervous as he's not really great in any position.

Z.Guthrie might be the safest given he's playing well and the defensive system is on top of their games.

If it were my call both O'Connor and Menegola would miss out.

And these guys would be best 22 at nearly all clubs in the league.

Resting guys for weeks now with AFL proven players likely on the fringe for finals. A position we haven’t been in for ages.

Rohan’s pressure and aerial contested work going up to prevent intercept marking is a crucial component to our game. I would be very surprised to see him dropped. Miers much more likely

Weakest link in our forward line is easily Rohan especially as Henry has shown he can play forward rather well

Weakest link in the mids is Gola and it isn't close

Weakest link in defence is O'Connor

So i would be leaving those 3 out if push came to shove

And he is a left footer which opens up space on a 45 kick when the opposition would otherwise be set up for a down the line kick

Nah, Rohans pressure, speed and leaping ability are all crucial to our game.

I agree, but I also agree he's the weakest of the forwards.
MOC is the obvious out, he looks a bit lost with our faster and more precise gamestyle, and he has no obvious key role in the team.
The second to miss out with be super unlucky but I think Menegola is the one. Duncan and Smith both do his role aswell as Holmes (and Miers to be honest), and since he does have that knack of being a bit slow it's that point of difference that seperates him for me (although he can be pretty clutch kicking at goal sometimes..).
Then someone has to be medi-sub and I have NFI who that could be. Zuthrie suits it better since he's really good at just slotting into the game, otherwise no clue.
Great problem to have, but it's still a problem.

Rohan is best 22. .

His job in the front line isn't to take contested marks. Its to pressure and to contest high balls so the opposition can't clear it or mark it. And he does his job excellently. If you drop Rohan than Danger picks up his role, which is a downgrade imo. (less effective in the air, unreliable kick at goal, doesn't apply as much pressure). Henry is a better mark than Rohan, but doesn't have the pressure side( which multiples with Close/Stengle/miers also closing down space)

That was the team as named, plus MOC as sub.

If we say that our ins are Smith and Duncan, then Menegola has to come out. I would then play Rohan as the Sub, because for short bursts he can play some mid minutes if needed. Jack Henry can play forward if we need the 3rd tall, as can Blicavs and Stanley.
