Stinking mess that game was.

7-1 still a fair effort from pre season suggestions for us.

Pretty much everyone dropped their bundle in this one.

Holmes, Stengle, Atkins, Clark, Zuthrie, Ollie Henry mostly good....

Miers got going later...

Jezza, Tomma, Stanley, 2E, Blitz and just a shocker. Mitch Duncan too.

Bruhn and Stewy look sore and hurt.

We have depth to come back in but geez it was ugly.

Port in 6 days at home for us but hopefully we can bury this mess and move on.

What a shocker of a game- we were terrible and they weren’t much better. But they had Gawn and he did very well. We fought it out but gee we were poor. Not a bad time for a loss. Onwards to next week- must beat port at home and get back on track. Well done to Atkins and Zach guth, Holmes - tried hard all night.

In ranking players A to E, Jack Henry gets a Z.

I do not know if it is possible for one player to get more comprehensively smashed in all facets of the game.

If the umpire was fair dinkum, Cameron would've been having that shot from the top of the square - the bloke who brought him down wasn't even in the marking contest.
You just know if it had been the other way around the ump would have been so eager to wave the 50m penalty his arm would drop off or he'd flap his way into orbit.

Couldn’t play any worser than that tbh and probs still could’ve pinched it. I thought that was Melb’s peak too. SDK got involved and starting to get into the grove of things. Some bizarre umpiring as well.

And who tf is number 35 for Dees the guy was gonna pluck a seagull the way he was going.

Honestly Petty couldn't have caught Covid in a New York slum in 2020 up till tonight, and today he makes Carey look mortal. Staggering seeing him mark everything that came his way.

We had our chances, but some fumbly entries that found Lever and May all the time, and of course Frisch kicking that goal. Jezza just not on his kicking boots tonight. Frustrating loss, but we finally see K.P next week and hopefully get back on the horse.

Skill errors were terrible. There was pressure in the game but I wouldn't have called it manic. We were missing targets on the rebound under little pressure. We have a bad habit of turning spud Melbourne forwards into Wayne Carey for a day. Weideman has lived off it for 5 years and we added another $100,000 a year to Petty's Adelaide contract tonight.

No one to blame but ourselves on that one.

Barry crocker from the start.... and we were lucky the Demons were as shit as we were as it could have been a 10 goal blow out if they kicked straight.

File it away and on to next week.

At least we've seen how bad we can be lol

Not worried of Melbourne. Played their game to their best ability.
We were off. Was a close game.

7-1. We move on and bounce back at home.
