I highly doubt the club wouldn't have had an interview and article about Stanley's 200th because he's not as decorated as some other players. 3 possibilities I think in order of most likely:

1) Stanley doesn't want the fanfare.
2) The plan wasn't to play him this week but Conway isn't right (I guess we see if he plays VFL).
3) Conway is still going to play on Sunday but they don't want to appear to be taking North lightly so Stanley will get a minor injury in the next 48 hours.

I think there's one main thing that worked against Conway for this weekend - #200 for Stanley

If Rhys was embarrassed last weekend then he may have had to wait for his milestone match, but he was good & deserved the chance to back up this weekend and play his milestone in front of the home crowd

Thata fair but it was an ideal chance to play him on the smaller ground vs an easy opponent. It will be hard to play conway on the big mcg during the next few weeks due to his limited endurance.

Considering the chat today, and words from Scott in the press conference, think it’s pretty clear Stanley will play

Plus, they’ve had him on the banner of the home page all week - same as the previous 3 weeks with Stewart, Hawkins & Blicavs

Chris Scott on… Rhys Stanley’s 200 game milestone

I'm really proud of Rhys.

We brought him in really with a specific role in mind that he hadn't played much of at AFL level. He was a forward at St.Kilda, and played a little bit back as well.

But we brought him in specifically to be a ruckman and he's just been terrific value for us. He's been a really good person to have around the club and performed well for us on the big stage.

But it hasn't been easy for him. He's had his ups and downs, he's had to fight his way through, and my observation is that he is better for it. You don't wish it on players necessarily, but to become a really resilient player you need to find your way through some difficult times.

So maybe he just wanted a chill week

I assume he just didn't want anything made of it.

Scott only answered questions. It was the journalist who brought up Stanley's 200th. Literally nothing from the club has mentioned it's Stanley's 200th game all week. It's bizarre.

Sheezel, Larkey, D Uniacke, Scott, Wardlaw, Greenwood, Simpkin

Id class all of them quality even if you dont, even Xerri is a very good ruckman.

Not saying they will beat us but we have to show respect either way and not mess with our team too much
Am I the only shocked Greenwood is still playing? I had no idea

Is anyone got offered who been a member for 10-24 years ( Member Recognition ) for Geelong vs North game? you get to

•Boundary line experience
•Behind the scenes look at Cats Headquarters
•Guest Speaker

I am... im just curious if anyone else is...
Yes but it’s not looking like I’ll be able to attend now. Great to have a good member recognition event, hopefully there’s some more.

Congrats to COS ! A little earlier than I thought but apparently was very good covering Gunston in last VFL game.
Think it is smart selection - we’ve looked a little undersized deep in defence this season (even with SDK), as shown by Grant last week. Larkey/Xerri resting could be another challenge this week and we have similar scenarios over the next month.

Not sure who goes out. Kolo has been excellent and Henry is working into form. COS ability to play multiple roles and to run should mean Tuohy out (who looked lame at end of Dogs match).

Last match was physically draining. I would be surprised (and a little concerned) if a single change. Hawk needs a rest and Could go out for Neale but I’d also look to have a fresh runner in as well and replace the most sore midfielder

Kolo is sore according to the club. COS is the obvious inclusion, let Kolo get himself right to play Brisbane.

Touhy sore as well, so we'll eirehr see Mannagh come in, or move to the sub and MOC gets a full game.

God damn… got me haha.

Ok let’s just win every game then.
That was a very gracious concession of checkmate, and well played to Thorpy. The sad thing is I hadn't put two and two together either.

I would happily take "away final to GWS in week 1" if someone offered it to me right now.

There's a decent chance that'd be a QF, and even an EF would probably be about par to expectations.

Not that it’s even a 0.1% chance of happening, but as if stands we could still win every game and have an away first final to GWS depending on percentage.

Do you realise if we did go undefeated then by definition everyone else will have lost atleast 1 game?

If we don't play Neale this week I'm not sure he will many games at all this season (unless injuries hit us hard).

In saying that I'm not Neale's biggest fan... but this game looks as good as any to give him a crack.

Him getting a run on our home deck and possibly kicking a few verse a very ordinary North defense could be a nice way to get some real belief in himself as a key forward.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him named emergency and get a call up as a late change.
