Who can remember back to 20th July 2003. Not many I guess. Why it is an epic day it was time we beat the cats at Kardinia Park Dogs 15.9 to Cats 11.15.

Changes I would make not that think it will happen Bruce will stay in and Sam will not debut.

Ins
Hunter, Caleb if fit, Darcy

Outs
Bruce, McNeill, Treloar injured

When we beat them in 2003 there was a Darcy and West, Luke and Scott. So it would kind of nice if there is a Darcy and West playing when we beat them in 2022.

I’ll be going, Selwoods 350th so the coverage down here will be nauseating, Joel might even walk across the Barwon this week. I’ll be abusing him all game so can’t wait.

Surely we have to end this drought eventually. We have been painfully close on a few occasions, none more so than last year.

2017 was probably our best chance prior to then. We were in front in the last quarter and had momentum our way before Cloke gave away a stupid free kick and 50m penalty that resulted in a Geelong goal. We didn't recover from that momentum killer.

2016 may have been ours had we not lost Macrae and Libba in the second quarter. We were in control of the match at that stage.

2015 could have gone either way. A few controversial umpiring decisions against us did us no favours in a close contest.

2017 was so frustrating, Cats coming off a bad loss so of course they set a team record for tackles or something. After said 50 or bloody Duckwood nails a 55m bomb, his spud brother hit one from 50 on the boundary too at some point, Danger nailed multiple goals from the boundary, one off is opposite foot by memory.

Last year was the worse though.

How on earth do people remember this stuff so vividly?!

I really need to stop downing 6 beers during every game.

Did the people dropping McNeil watch the game on Saturday? Thought he was instrumental in keeping us in touch - his pressure was huge.
Yeah I thought he was very good too. I think some see him as a VFL player simply because that’s where he’s come from. If he had Cody’s looks, charm and draft position I think people would give him more of a chance. The kid is still only 20. We should be really pleased with how he’s going.

Simply swap Treloar for Daniel if he can't get up. If he can, Daniel still comes in, and Johannisen goes to sub.

Did nothing in the 2s and goes missing when the heat is turned up

Bruce not offering anything right now apart from taking best or 2nd best defender.

Schache had some moments against Sydney at least.

Agreed. Well said. McNeill seems to be the 'low possession, high quality' player we have been crying out for. Him, Garcia, West and Weightman applying pressure up forward has been great for us the last couple weeks.

Bruce taking the 2nd defender is better the Schaches "moments" and again doesn't address the elephant in the room regarding his consistent poor performances is big games Richmond last year, Grand Final last year, Round 1 this year Brisbane 3 weeks ago he is a fine break glass in case of emergency player sure but he hasn't got it between the ears for games like this

McNeil is a pressure beast, he has 15-20 PAs and 5 tackles a week, and can hit the scoreboard - going at close to a goal a game (and I’d say he’s had quite a few half/shortened game being sub going off memory?)

He’s everything you want out of your 20-22nd picked role player, in saying that I think McLean probably pushes him out with a full squad, West, Cody, JJ ahead as smalls forward of the ball, probably line ball with McNeil & Garcia but I feel internally Garcia is rated higher.

Coming along really nicely, compared to last year when he was just a 5 touch a game player who just couldn’t find a way to impact a game.

Richmond don't win 3 flags without their small fleet putting on the pressure they did and sacrificing their "stat line" to do so Weightman, McNeil, West and Garcia are doing wonders down their pressure wise and its starting to click down there
