He has and Smith looked quite dynamic at times. Looked to be moving well, presented at the ball up to the wings. Kicking at goal OK without being outstanding.

In and out of the games a bit, but that’s true for all the VFL taller forwards.

Would be annoyed af if we brought in one of the cooked campaigners to play completely different to Petty. Brown can kick 4 and make us substantially worse. McDonald can do more 'grunt' stuff but doesn't touch it.

Very frustrating if we bring in one of the dinosaurs but I understand whilst Joel smith is a novel idea TMac and brown are more trustworthy in the eyes of the coaches. In reality if we lose the game I doubt it’s purely because petty is out.

I'd go with Max 80% forward and let Grundy ruck for most of the game. Needing to bring in another tall for Petty is dumb, but it's Simon's DNA so I expect it to happen.

We’re playing undersized in defence which we’ve never done before, we’re not relying on the same three clearance mids at every bounce, and we’re playing four small forwards. We 100% need to bring in a tall for Petty because right now our only talls are May, Lever, JvR and the two rucks. As we saw last week, we don’t have the timber if one of them goes down because there’s nobody to get on a long lead.

What exactly do you expect TMac and Brown to do? both useless on the long lead so it forces JVR further away from goal to do the donkey work. If a long lead is what youre after give me Schache then.

kicked three goals in each of his three games and brought the ball down from contests when he did not mark it. Then he got injured.

I don't see the problem with him coming back as long as he is over his injury because he does not play well when carrying an injury.

Brown should also get the best tall defender which will help JVR because playing someone with less than 10 games against the best defender each week is not a fair ask.

Whichever of Brown or McDonald gets selected and does not perform then they will be dropped that is the line in the sand Goodwin has shown quite clearly.

With who? Brown who plays nothing like a tall and McDonald who sucks? What are we gonna do just pump it long in the air all game to 'exploit' them. Crap plan. Just hit up targets and use Fritsch Chandler and Pickett not crap talls just cause they are tall.
