If we lose to the Fitzroy Roos the club should have a fire sale & go into voluntary administration.

Not sure how Burton kept his spot, the guy that’s coaching at the top of his game must evaluate form lines a little different to most.

Burton is actually decent when he plays his seagull/uncontested ball/riley bonner role of back flanker/distributor with time and space and not have the actual pressure of having to body and physically mind an opponent. Thats not a knock thats Burtons game. Jones in this week will help to release Burton to push off the flanks, intercept and deliver up the field with possibly a long bomb goal in there

Good changes, mobile talls in the forward line is the way we should go. Now use them! BZT back in the 18 is much better.

Agree gbear would have been good to see a debutante.

Burton was our best shutdown player in the backline for years to play on smalls and mediums.

Last two years he’s just declined. Started when we moved him around. There’s obviously something physically wrong with him also. He couldn’t even bend more than 15 degrees last week.

Haven't you heard Stinkers isn't playing injured players anymore!

I reckon he's carrying something significant. Moving around like he's got a stank ass booty

Nothing is more certain than McEntee would get a game after his game saving tackle last week.

The defensive forward maestro is amongst our small forwards
  • second last for tackles by 0.4% to DBJ (3.0 to 2.6)
  • 3rd for pressure acts per game
  • last for one percenters per game
Of course if he
  • kicked more than a goal every 4 games,
  • took more than a mark a game,
  • averaged more than 2.5 kicks a game
  • have made a single goal assist
he probably wouldn't have to make so many wonderful defensive efforts.

It makes my balls shrivel (moreso) to see he has played every game so far this season. Even if 1 was as a sub (which is even more ridiculous when you think about what kind of player a sub should be).

Neither has Burton.

It’s a difficult one to understand, problem is we have nobody kicking the door down to take his place.
Yep we could give a couple of the new lads a go but there not showing a lot.
Must say it definitely doesn’t help playing for the magpies at the moment to develop there chances of going anywhere.

I know this is going to sound weird but keeping Burton in the team to me shows that we are not serious with new changes for the year and it almost puts a line through us as premiership threats.

You can't have a guy almost lose our team a game and keep him in the side.

Its bad football and bad for the psychology of the team.

Jed is a limited footballer but at least he tries. Burton is like the son of the boss who owns the company and is allowed to do what he wants which is usually using his privilege and not doing much.

For the rest of the year, Burton is going to be had by half decent coaches.

If we were a halfway serious threat to the flag neither Burton or McEntee would be in the side this week.

Play with one man down. We do anyway.
