"Best footy department in the league."

the SANFL?

Another game we get to watch Dougie JOG from contest to contest only for the ball to be cleared before he gets close enough to impact anything.

Or watch him fumble as we get possession after a turnover, killing all momentum and advantage we had on the rebound...

I do wonder if our football department headed by Burton ever work together with our list managers/recruiting department throughout the year.

Hamish has team line ups ranging from 2020,2021,2022,2023 etc written down on whiteboards up @ the club, why are we persisting with players that aren’t in those team sheets in our future sides?
If they aren’t going to be here next year we need to be thinking about our future teams that’ll be running out on the park before it’s too late.
I think that’s the problem though, we aren’t thinking.
It’s pretty stupid actually thinking about it, it reeks of a club that doesn’t really have an end goal in mind.
Play Fogarty, play McHenry when fit, play Jones.

Meanwhile a forward beast like Fogarty who would thrive in Showdown pressure gets to cool his heels in SANFL defence.
Heard at Selection:
"Yeah, Douglas stays in, he's a good ole boy. Mackay back too, awesome fellas great choice. Darcy who?
Oi, pass that bong, Campo".

The only reason I can think that Dougy is being picked is the club had him in the best 22 during preseason and are sticking to that. He has had no positive impact on any games.

I think the reasoning is sadder then that. We still think there is some mileage left in him and are not yet willing to accept he's done.

I have supported the Crows since inception. What a ride.... 2 premierships and a world of hope for more. I AM 67 NOW AND AM RAPIDLY GIVING UP HOPE OF ANOTHER PREMIERSHIP IN MY LIFETIME.
I put my hope in the hands of incompetent dickheads who fail to reward form or endevour and continue to pick their s**t mates. Hope we win by 10 goals but why start the game with a handicap.
SELECTION it is putrid.
Pretty good melt, there :thumbsu: :).

How can professionals be so delusional? Unless they aren't that professional.

His issue isn't form, it is his body and that isn't improving.

Without being on the inside, I have no idea. Maybe it's knowing Dougy that's causing denial, or misplaced faith. Maybe it comes down a lot of voices that are too conservative to make good decisions, maybe he is hitting some KPIs we have no idea about, maybe there are a few people under pressure with their jobs?

Near impossible to say, but I have no idea how they're not seeing it. Everything about how he plays right now screams he finished, and whilst he isn't as bad as 2016 Thommo, he's starting to approach that point.

Not over the moon with the ins. Worried they're rushing Leeroy also. What's the bet he's back to his tentative old ways instead of the beast mode Leeroy we've gotten used to over the last 6 weeks?

A part of me is expecting that one to be a late out, just gut feel though.

They would've played Sauce until he was in his mid-40's, although he was clearly past his best :disappointed::cry:. The only reason ROB got his chance, and has made a great job of it, was Jacobs' injury.
Likewise, they won't play a kid in front of Douglas unless he gets injured.

32, best was unremarkable, average at best in finals. Can't reach many contests, the ones he reaches he gets soundly beaten by anyone, regardless of size, age or experience. The silence from the club on his selection and the lack of heat from the inbred SA footy media is piss weak.

Davis, who was pushed off the ball at nearly every contest in his first game, had more impact than Douglas did.

Mackay and Douglas' selection are indefensible. More so douglas which is saying something
Milera and jj in is great
People saying the club have been lying about lynch haven't been listening tho. I didn't think he'd get up this week after hearing several interviews where he was described as a chance only. Previous weeks it was we expect him to play in 1 of 2 weeks but he has to train fully first. Which he hasn't

Comfortably??... did you actually watch the game?.. we gave up a great lead in the first half of the last quarter and they almost took the game off us.. in the end we consolidated and won by 20 points when we should’ve won by a lot more.. we were up 7 goals at the start of the 4th ffs.

And they were massively undermanned missing some of their better players and R gray who always tears us a new one.
Bullshit. I was there and apart from a 15 minute period we annihilated them. We relaxed coming off a short break thinking it was over then found our intensity again to ensure the win
They were undermanned and we did what we should have to them

This is my tip:

Milera to replace Davis up forward.
Mackay to replace Smith at half back

And wait for it............

Smith to replace Gibbs in the middle, you heard it here first

That’s the only way I can accept Mackay back. Given Seeds and Atkins form he’s not playing on the wing.

He aint a forward that’s for sure.

If we move either of those 2 from the wing to fit in Mackay I give up.
It's not a bad shout actually. Smith and laird were well held last week so if mookay can free them up then they will help us a lot
