Funny game this one. I was quite forgiving after the loss in Tassie - but because of that loss, this one becomes absolutely no excuses, must win, most important game of the year. And despite that, I still have one eye on the following week thinking the derby is absolutely no excuses, must win, most important game of the year.

I thought it was just late that Cox went forward, after we had already let Sicily run amok. Pretty sure it was said Cox put himself there. Similar to what Pearce did. No sure how true

Sicily only got moved forward because he couldn't tackle due to his shoulder and thry had already made their sub. It was a move in desperation not so much tactical.

What you described is purely tactical. It is about maximising your resources to achieve the best outcome.

Yep - interestingly also said we're going to back in the same forward line from last week - but I still assume Voss will be out for Darcy

It looked like the Freo forwards were keeping on top of Sicily and looking to be physical. If all is fair, they'd have started putting heavy bumps and tackles into Walker's AC joint and that would have a much longer and greater impact for our season than their own.

Whilst I don’t agree it’s the best use of the sub role, I can understand as it means we play an extra mid most of the game (who we can rotate forward to keep fresh) and it’s a dignified way to keep Walters out of the team for 3 quarters of game. Clearly the MC see him as only our 23rd best player.

Not sure how anyone can justify having Sonny in the side and even less so as the sub. Either play him for the full game or drop him, we need some run and versatility as the sub, with Aish being my choice.

Still no explanation as to why Walker played WAFL? To test out the shoulder ?

They mentioned him on the injury report which infers he played Peel to protect the shoulder, but they never explicitly stated this.

Sonny being the sub does confirm that he's right on the edge of selection though. It is a toss up between Aish and Sonny being the sub. I think we'll see Aish playing at Peel this weekend, I am expecting Walker to replace him in the side.
