Lipinski has certainly been up and down with his impact on the team. This is very much a common problem with players before they hit the 50 game eperience mark.

BUT we have seen what he is capable of, especially leading to last years finals period.

Look out when all these players are moving into the 60 - 80 game phase of their career....
Have we? I thought he only had about two good games last year.

Just checked the Ching and he got 6 votes for the year, polling in 3 games. Finished 13th on our list (15th on raw votes).

I get that he hasn't peaked yet but if he genuinely had a very high ceiling I'd have hoped to have seen more glimpses of the future star by now.

As I said I don't mind him in the 22 but he'd be about 18th-20th picked every week for me. The fact that he gets dropped every so often suggests MC are of a similar view.

I wish him luck. He grew up supporting the Dogs and it'd be great story. I'm just not seeing it yet.

I might be wrong but I thought he punched the aerial ball a fair bit last week (I was only just game enough to watch through splayed fingers when it went near him). He has averaged 5.5 one-percenters this year. By comparison Keath has averaged 4.5 this year and a bit over 5 for his whole career.

I'm sure someone will find other stats that show he had NFI though.
You are not incorrect. I get the very strong impression though, that the ball basically has to land on or around his head via a long and and unimaginative bomb I50 for that to happen. We played Adelaide who are shite and did this a bit. When the ball was in motion and pinging around he doesn't see it like a good and natural defender and gets LOST IN SPACE

I pray to Dog we do not select him at all again coz it's going to cost us big against decent opposition (the views are those of the author..blah blah ..:))

Take no chances with English so unless very close to 100% the rest will do him good. Needless to say we have to win though.

The major issue for me is that he actually gets in a decent position and instead of attacking the ball he takes his eyes of it and watches his opponent which instantly puts him out of position. He then grabs etc and gives away free kicks. If he played with confidence he may actually be half ok.

I reckon that is what Bevo is trying to bring out.

I'm more a McLean fan that Lipinski. McLean isn't the same level user but he's got a bit more mongrel and he covers the ground better.

Lippy is a class ball user, but he lacks the athleticism. Especially when some of our better mids aren't quick (Macrae, Dunkley, Libba, Bont) all would be described as either mid paced or slow. You can't afford too many slow movers in the side. And Lippy isn't anywhere near the level of these guys.

He's 185cm Schache.

I like Lipinski as an inside mid. Gets 20+ disposals, almost all effective, rests forward for a goal threat. As a pure forward he's alright but not a lot of pressure so he'd need to hit the scoreboard more than once a game. As a winger he looks slow, can't accumulate enough to be really damaging. and is exposed in more one on ones. Unless he's inside I think he's going to struggle to make it.

Much like most of our mids

English did not look 100% at training today. Touch and go I reckon if he plays it will be big risk to go with one ruckman but who knows with our MC. Sweet may still debut but Bevo's lips are sealed.
The footage I saw didn’t look great, didn’t seem comfortable even jogging.

McLean is better one on one, sticks more tackles and has a very good footy brain. It frustrates me when he gets dropped.

That post from Guido made me laugh and i was about to like it but.....you mods are quick tonight
Glad someone's mind is as far down the gutter as mine is. :)

Mods are innocent, I deleted it myself - thought it might be pushing the line.

Still think if English is anything less than 90% fit, Big Jordan Sweet should play. #FreeBJS

I'm hoping we see Sweet debut, we need to find out where our list is at and this week seems the perfect chance to give him a run.
English will be helped by the week off.
