Out: Howe, Hall, Turner & Scott

In: Greenwood, Perez, Simpkin & Drury

Corr Mckay McDonald
Perez Logue Sheezel
Shiels LDU Tucker
Curtis Larkey Drury
Stephenson Comben Cunnington

Only players that lower their eyes and hit to our forwards advantage are Goldstein and Sheezel.

LMac will contribute 5-10 intercept marks to May, Gawn and Levers tally. You can run from the top of the 50m arc to the goal square in the time it takes LMac to run his customary few steps, wind up on the arc, drop the ball onto his boot, and sky it 50m. Bread and butter for them to leave their opponent and impact the contest.

MacDonald, Turner, Scott, Larkey, Corr, Mackay, all rubbish oh sorry and Howe.. these are the players that I would axe .. have I missed anyone?

Last season our best performance was at the MCG against Collingwood. Also, when we were going through our record 50+ hidings every week, our most competitive game was against the Dees. We were in it for a long time. Hope breathes eternal - as they say.

Simpkin likely misses again, so based on that and how Melbourne went last night

In- Greenwood, Shiels, CCJ, Bergman, Wardlaw (Sub)

Out- Howe, Phillips, Turner, Sheezel (rest)

Must play 3 talls to limit Melbourne intercept marking, saw it last night for 3 quarters Sampson Ryan did a great job. Go with Larkey, Comben and CCJ with Curtis/ stevo at the feet for pressure and crumbing.

Given Is at the G, shiels is a must given how crucial Langdon is on the wing, have him run with him all game long. Need Grunt in the middle as to have any chance must win contested ball. We know we are cooked on the spread regardless.

A lot of players were poor and we have stated who it is, but the 3 players that disappointed me the most were Phillips, Powell and Corr. I have rated all 3 but that game I did think that maybe they aren’t any good. It actually hurts.

There is some chance that could make the overreactions hall of fame

Definitely need 3 talls both for the forward line but also to combat Gawn and Grundy. CCJ comes in and hopefully a forward coach to design some sort of system there

I can never be bothered trying to work out who should be in and who should be out but something that strikes me that might be having an impact on our performance, is the lack of stability in our fixture so far.

We started at home at Marvel, next to Perth at Optus, followed by Hawthorn at UTas Stadium, then at home at Marvel against Carlton, back on the road to Adelaide for Gather Round and on Sunday to the Gold Coast. Not a lot of routine for our boys in that 6 weeks, apart from packing and unpacking their bags on a very regular basis.

Now clearly other teams will have had similar schedules and of course the 8 interstate clubs are on the road every second weekend, but they also are far more likely to have settled into that routine. Just an observation.
