Charlie Curnow - The Return!

I am tipping he will have 2-3 weeks in the VFL and then he will be straight into the AFL team. It will be a different dynamic, he will play mostly full forward and McKay will have more moments playing up the ground at CHF which is where I see our ideal side.
Harry’s around-the-corners and reverse-bananas are more suited closer to goal. Charlie doesn’t mind the drop punt. Would think Charlie would be CHF and Harry FF.

Long term probably so but fitness wise I think Curnow plays closer to goal. I would also prefer Curnow having more shots on goal as he's a much better kick than McKay. McKay also appears pretty accurate further out. I think in the future they just rotate between CHF and FF.

From memory the last game they played together was Charlie FF and Harry CHF

Play him a half VFL, stipulating he doesn't do anything stupid (high marks, etc). Following week 3 qtrs again nothing stupid. Following week 3qtrs play freely. Week after depending on form either VFL/AFL. After each game a scan on his knee just to be sure.
All his injuries came from stupid things he did OFF the field.
Let him play football.

Would love to see....

Charlie- FF
Harry- CHF/Ruck (Daniher role)
3rd Tall- Waite/Hamill or Gunston type

nope. Harry only does that because his routine is cactus and he tries to steer the thing through from 25 - 30 Has no confidence in kicking for goal from mid range.

I think he’s a decent shot from 45 - 60 because he concentrates more on contact and less on how bad it will look if he misses.

close to goal will suit Charlie better.

Apparently the Ostrich is the only animal with four kneecaps.

I vote we sacrifice a whole herd of them to give the gods their fill, and hope they leave Charlie's alone.
I approve of the sentiment but not so sure about the stat, pretty sure I could name dozens of animals with four kneecaps off the top of my head.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.....

Fascinating stuff. The things you learn on a footy forum...
Well there you go, calling them wrists seems a bit of a stretch to me but then again I'm not exactly a zoologist either so what would I know.

Not the first time my attempt at being a smart-arse has backfired.

Depending on his knee, any range will suit Charlie better.

We're going to be in a similar situation we were in before soon, in which we're being forced to question who plays deep and who goes for a run around the ground. The answer is both, but not at the same time; play around with it, manipulate the matchups and try and get one loose or isolated deep with a desirable matchup.

Use the fact that both of them are excellent marks on the lead or contested, both are troublesome for defenders in different ways, and that Harry now has full match roaming fitness and Charlie's from a family of long distance runners.

It's akin to having two Nick Riewoldts. Use the fact that they're both fast and fit, and spread tall defenders.

Only one thing is certain. When both Charlie and McKay are playing, we will still bomb it on Eddie's head every time we go forward.
Just make sure to buy a seat for Eddie behind the goals once he's retired.

We can make it work.
