Ddidn't say the was, I'm indicating that their natural attacking flair has been coached out of them.

I'd be extremely sceptical that Ken is telling half-back flankers to be less attacking. He loves these sorts of players because they remind him of himself. We heard him a few years ago tell Pittard that hes willing to accept the bad stuff, ie making mistakes, as long as he continues to take the game on.

Not quite.

It was that he accepts the mistakes as long as the defensive stuff is done.

I think we are also just a really slow side. Genuine speed. Also with handballs, and pulling the trigger and running offensively from half back. If our small forwards were quick - Boak, SGray, Thomas, R Gray. This would help. Also our inside mids are slow - we need someone with burst power. SPP has a bit, Chad a little, but that's it.

This is why we can't play Etihad, or Optus. But go well at Adelaide Oval, and SCG

No. If he's making mistakes then obviously the defensive stuff isn't perfect ie. turnovers will happen, goals will be leaked.

"It's probably more important what the teammates and coaches are saying. I know that's a bit cliched, but I've always had the backing of Ken and even before that my previous coaches who always put that confidence in me. I don't really see any reason why I shouldn't go for it and back myself in. If the day comes when Ken [Hinkley] is telling me not to do that then maybe I'll stop, but he's certainly given me the confidence."

Of all people, Hinkley should be tolerant. Just as Pittard is today, Hinkley was a dynamic rebounding backman during an accomplished career at Geelong in the late 1980s and 90s. The similarities even extend to jumper number 29. Pittard thinks it helps their rapport.

"He often tells me that I remind him of the way he played. I suppose that's good, because I think he feels that the position I play is a quite important one for the team," Pittard said.

I was thinking of some pre match footage we released where Ken spoke of the defence stuff.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but would expect Charlie to be mowing Chris Davies' lawn and in contact with Patrick Dangerfield trying to get this "two inside the 50 at all stoppages" proposal up and running.

Port star Charlie Dixon reveals his other love away from footy ahead of Advertiser’s Motoring liftout.
PORT Adelaide full forward Charlie Dixon will be one of the first readers to pick up The Advertiser’s new Motoring liftout on Friday.
Dixon takes out the title for the keenest car enthusiast at Alberton, hands down.
He has two cars that take up much of his time and money when he’s away from footy and much of his spare time is spent looking for his next car project.
Dixon first got the bug when he took over his grandfather’s 1977 HX ute — which he still has — and he later added a 2004 CV8 Monaro to his stable.

I'd be filthy if i was a scray fan
to have either the kid in Naughton or Collins who is giving up 10cm on him is horrible coaching
