Misfiring (and misused) on field, but can't deny he's fully bought into the club. Wearing the Merchandise, even in a non-footy setting / post.

He commented on his post (back to Jackson Trengove) and said that this photo was when he flew in from China and didn't have anything else to wear.

I’m gonna go a step further and say he’s been wholly disappointing since we landed him. This is his third season with us now and other than a few brief patches he’s struggled to score goals and impact games when we’ve needed him to. Our current gameplay does him no favours but i’m Also sick of the excuses

What were you doing in 2017 pal? Hiking in the Andes or something similar because you sure weren't watching Port play last year when Charlie was 2nd in our B&F.

They tightened up on him in the second but he still had influence.

If he can hold his marks in the third like he was in the first he'll be massive.

He's bloody killing me atm. One of the best players in the comp to watch when he's on, but just isn't putting together 4 (even 2!) quarters this season.
If we get Marshall back in the side soon, and Dixon finds his 2017 form... heck.

Charlie doesn't have the forward craft of the really good forwards, but he has some huge physical advantages that compensate. He started using his strength and physical presence more, although Rance when he's not propelling himself through time and space is a strong competitor too. Should have worked over James Frawley much more. His marking can tend to go all irongloves so a good crumber at his feet would be handy.

It was a pity that a partnership with Brett Eddy didn't work out as he had real forward craft.

Yeah he doesn't do the multiple leads, and I don't think I've ever seen him use opponents/teammates as separation barriers to get a break on his direct opponent. But the flip side is when we kick it straight to him he'll almost never lose the contest and he's imposing enough that he demands the attention of a second defender.

On Game Day this morning Charlie confirmed something I have thought since mid 2016. He is blind as a bat. He wears month long contacts, is short sighted, when he was at the Suns he had trouble seeing the ball clearly, admits that he struggles a bit more at night games and before he got his contacts, he couldn't tell who was playing at the other end for the Suns.

He saw a doctor in Brisbane who helped him and he still visits and gets his contacts from.

It was obvious to me in mid 2016 especially night games, that he had eye issues as he continually got too far under the ball when leading and going for a mark. It happened too often for there not to be a problem.

He still gets under the ball too often still so it will be an issue for the rest of his career. He is worse at it at night games. Good thing the GF is a day game. Well for this year at least.

Wow

Lloyd's analysis of Dixon was pretty good on 9. He doesn't use his body well enough to go back and take a step or two and bump into his defender and put him off balance and then go towards the ball and get separation from his defender like Carey and others would do.

It would help if we had a 200 gamer KPF as our forwards coach to coach our forwards on the basics.
