Has been reported on 3aw and puntroadend that charman will be put up for trade. He is 26 and perfect for our needs.Would compliment simmo, is hard at it and can kick a goal.

My brother is pretty good friends with Charmo and there was talk about him getting traded last year, but he signed a 3 year deal.

Voss and Him do not get on very well are a business deal went wrong that he vossy and lynch were involved in.

I wouldnt mind him, but he does give away alot of stupid free kicks
 
Just got off the phone to my brother who spoke to Jamie.

There is alot of things riding on it. There is a possibility a trade will come into it, but charmo didn't want to talk about it.

It would be awesome if he come, knowing someone in the Richmond lineup....

One thing i do know is, him and Richo were in the same room during the Vic v All Stars game and got on really well. He even wrote about it in the Brisbane MX paper.

Reminds me of Stafford, but at 27 his body could be an issue by 2011 (due to his bash n' crash style).

He would solve our problems for a couple of years, but would he want to play 2nd ruck waiting for Simmo to retire?

Being a very athletic bloke I suspect Simmo is still in top condition.
 
I would play charman as no1 and allow Simmo to play an Ottens like role and drift forward.

Simmo would be pretty handy for the new 4 ump throw in

Then again TW's defensive play would likely require Charman to ruck then fall back in the hole?

Would he be of better value over the next 5 years than some 18 year old?

If Brisbane were to trade Charman, especially with our ruck weaknesses (Leuenberger is a great kid but if Charman left he would be the ONLY pure ruck on the list), the words "1st round pick" would be a minimum...

We've got plenty of players like Raines already. He'd just be list filler. 3rd round pick... heh no.

Charman will stay in Brisbane.

Cameron Wood was a 1st round pick trade last season. Charman is that far in front of him it's ridiculous.

This provides a hint as to what would be need to be provided to obtain Jamie Charman from the Lions. You would need to give up something seriously good, which maybe why there would be a lot of 'things riding on it', as per lvt.
This would only leave us with Leunberger as a genuine ruckman on our whole list.

Yep, you would need to offer something mindblowing which is highly unlikely.

I will take your 4th rounder and Lionel Proctor. But that's as high as i'm prepared to go.

I mean Charman is only a just-turned-26 year old contracted first ruck. Theys fall of trees theys do.

there might be a few questioningthe wisdom of that move 22 rounds later:confused:...lidten you're probably right and if Miller was around he'd probably be making a case and half right now to meet your demands, hell he did with stafford 5 or 6 years ago:rolleyes:
 
Gee if this were true and Charman was open to moving to Adelaide, I would hope Port would be aggressive. 2nd Rounder + Pearce/Krakouer would be reasonable I think.

In your opinion which of these trade offers are reasonable for Charman?

Polo

Raines + 3rd rounder

Pettifer + 3rd rounder

Wanna trade Foley for a 3rd rounder + McGrath? Or Thursfield for Corrie?

28 touches and 3 goals on debut? He's got talent. If he steps up he'll play a similar role to a Brett Kirk.

It is simple, if he is so good...he would play in your best 22. He doesn't.

How does that make us insecure? That's terrible psychology, even by internet standards.

Every offer so far has been ridiculous mate. Charman would be one of our first players picked every week.

Polo, Pettifer and Raines only managed 14 games between them this year. Why would we trade our contracted , premiership winning, number 1 ruckman for one of these guys who can't even make your side.
