I assume it’s already been pointed out that the photo at the top of this page is horribly-dated? Turnbull’s neither here nor there, but at least photoshop out Renault and EnergyAustralia, idk I’m not a titan of international business.

Mate, you are pushing proverbial pins into the voodoo doll of an unfeeling unaware numbnut football club - our football club - that persists with blatant website ignorance and other self-projection in reverse ... such as the persisting blank spaces on the ‘Board’ page where a profile of new directors, Darren Cahill son of Jack and Gavin Legend Wanganeen, should appear but still do not.

They don’t care. They have no regard for themselves, set no media standards ... and wonder why sponsors, who employ pros to check on this sort of professionalism, or lack thereof, steer clear.

They make me ill.

Thanks.

I remember Bupa icons across and down and that Penfolds and the wine/grape industry were getting behind China.
When I worked for chateau tanunda last year they were trying to get into the Chinese market.. said why dont you look into sponsoring ports China game ect... boss looked at me... (Hawthorne supporter) and said something along the lines of not helping the port ferals.

I didnt last much longer but that's a different story.

Doesn't the guy who owns Chateau Tanunda live in Sydney?

Koch on MMM now. First thing he goes with "we're just a little working class club..." **** off dickhead. He is so disconnected from the rank and file.

Also Roochewtoe keeps hounding him on what we make out of it.... Koch very vague....

Then plethora of excuses for the team.... Just a load of yuck.

Light years away from the days when PAFC leaders exuded confidence with a subtle touch of arrogance both off field and on field.

Ovingham is a little working class club.
West Adelaide is a little working class club.

Where did this come from? I don't ever recall anyone except Kochwomble refer to us as such.

You can tell that the AFC board clearly still see the China stuff as a joke/ but still possibly a threat too. Roochewtoe was pretty pointed in his questioning of the financial gain Port was getting from it. Asked repeatedly for a figure. Koch again very vague, crapped on about Haneco and the Adelaide Uni stuff, to which Roochewtoe fired back are you making any money out of that which Koch said ...er well yeah....

Also talked about Penfolds going up with Port on this junket, which had me thinking to myself, why would a Luxury Exclusive Brand want to associate themselves with a "little battling working class club.."?? Koch needs to go. Always thought with his Eastern Seaboard profile and connections he'd open doors for us, but he clearly hasn't and he's actually become a liability.

This is the little man, the microscopic negative ventriloquist at work inside his oversized head:

“Nobody in China cares one whit about Aussie Rules.” (Objective: Condition my Sunrise fans for failure.)

“Once is once too many. We will never play Gold Coast in China again.” (Objective: Project absolute power.)

“I want to make Ken a ten-year senior coach.” (Objective: Paternal figure, big man, big mouth, big stick, big heart, bad eyesight.)

“We are a li’l ole blue-collar footy club from Alberton.” (Objective: Condition my millions of invisible fans to failure.)

“We will play a match in Macau, latest next year!!!” (Objective: Shout out something to be remembered for.)

“We have to be BRUTAL!” (Objective: Correct my last big-mouth catastrophe by shouting it down, render it never-happened.)

“We’re only a li’l ole blue-collar footy club from Alberton.” (Objective: Did you hear that Dad? Proud of me, Dad? That’s what you would say, Dad. Right? Er ... wrong?”

Summary: Confusion, mixed messages, recipe for failure, not the man for China, nor to be Chairman of PAFC.

Is he saying this now just to troll? Or does he actually believe this schtick?

"I am a professional b*llsh*tter."

I forgot that one. That was how he introduced himself to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China.
Like ,,, “Oh I see expats in the room. Gotta be Aussies, every one of ‘em. Why be here if yer not Aussie? They’ll love me for this. Hey blokes I’m one o’ you, you know, deep down.”

Sadly Ovingham ceased to exist about 5 years ago.

We've been doomed to have to run around on proper sized football grounds ever since.

Damn, I didn't know that. Had a soft spot for them after living down the road for a number of years. Rough as guts but pretty friendly bunch.

I thought he was being a touch ironic when he first said it, but his continued repetition makes me doubt it. He needs to stop.

I actually don't think he can stop. It's like Tourettes for him. He's framed Port as thus and can't seem to shake it. He goes to it constantly, unnecessarily both as a fall back position, but also leads with it. What is to be gained by talking ourselves down continually??

Andrew Hunter loves himself a bit too much. Reckons hes some sort of China messiah and a paragon of the left side of politics. His Twitter is annoying reading at times. He'll never get us success in China.

As for Koch's continued reference to us being a working class club. It just proves that none of what the members feel is filtering up to him through KT or Richo - or anyone for that matter.

Either that, or he is wilfully going against us in some sort of power move. The guys a ****ing moron who wouldnt know the first thing about running a football club. This was always his shortcoming when he came in. He may be experienced at financial management (depends who you ask) but he's got ****ing no idea about football.

Looking in from the outside this trade agreement between Mr Stehr's group, Penfolds and the PAFC appears to be the most positive commercial gain since the China journey started. Both Companies have broad experience in closing deals in overseas markets and obviously have the 'on the ground 'expertise to develop their markets. Trade delegations involving state governments have a (minor) role to play but only experienced commercial businesses can actually complete any transactions.

Experienced feet and or bums on the ground is the only way to succeed in any market let alone a market as complex as China.

Good luck Port.
Lockhart Road would know better but my take on the biggest deal to come out of the China strategy after Mr Gui, to benefit the club's footy program directly, ie not pay for the game or the Power Footy program, is getting Nicho Teng on board. His Greaton and Haneco Lighting have sponsored the game, but Haneco Lighting is a club 2nd tiered Premier Partner sponsor and is on the club's official polo sleeves. That's money that goes directly to fund our footy program. GFG indirectly was attracted by the China connection but it wasn't their main aim.

The club has finally fixed up its website and has all the partners involved split into 2 groups, China partners and Shanghai 2019 partners.
