In June there were rumours a PLAN sub had sunk in port. The Warzone is reporting more details allegedly from the US DOD. They claim it was a first in class nuclear sub - one of the new Zhou class. It does seem rather ironic this happened in Wuhan, clearly a lot of bad spirits in the region.

A strange incident caught in satellite imagery was indeed a major mishap involving a Chinese submarine, according to a new report. The mysterious incident in China’s Wuchang Shipyard in the spring of this year led to the sinking of the new Zhou class SSN.
