There is a bit of smoke doing the rounds about Matthew knights. Could chocco end up at wind hill if the bombers continue to lose games? I think marks attitude would suit the bombers along with his dress sense.

Surely the EFC board would not turf Knights just 10 or so months since they extended his contract by another 2 years AND have him a material payrise?

Their positions would be untenable - cost would be $1m + to pay out Knights plus the extra coin Chocco would demand. Plus new assistants and pushing a few of the incumbents - so that burns the revenue from nigh on 10,000 memberships. What a rabble

Then again, given their membership fell this year, and they stink, maybe they cannot afford to keep Knights??

I hope they stick with Knighta:D

Essendon could do worse than employ a re-invigorated Mark Williams. He's a very very good coach who ran his course with Port Adelaide.

I'm thankful for his contribution to Port Adelaide. Sometimes things just have to be ended and everyone moved on. Choco will succeed in his next role. That I have no doubt over.

I think a loss this week to the dees will have the wolves at knightas front door. There is no doubt that essendon made the finals last year on default and camouflaged where they are at as a club. Time will tell but I think chocco is on the bombers wanted list.

This is pretty much exactly what happened with Choco. His contract was extended last year.

I suspect the AFL would really like someone with proven abilty at an expansion team.

Theres a lot of dosh being thrown around for those teams to be coached by rookies

Whatever happens I hope they don't rush into any decisions. Plenty of money in the bank so that's hardly an issue.

Also, membership is up this year so i'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, regardless, what has it go to do with the issue?

From the Herald Sun website.

"Speculation has linked Williams to a role at Greater Western Sydney as an assistant to head coach Kevin Sheedy when the new AFL club enters the competition in 2012."
