Certainly hasn't been our worst performer over the last two weeks but is definitely below his best. Whats ur opinion? Underdone or Struggling with a career threatening injury? (I know most opposition supporters would love to have us believe the latter, but i'm sure we all hope he just needs a bit of match practice!)

I'm really not quite sure, but that grimace of his makes me worry, was it there before he got injured?

Should he be playing?

His not moving well at all. I know its going to take time but his body language at times tonight reminded me of when he was playing for the eagles late last year.

I hope its just me over reacting to it.

The pro's at the club and Judd himself would know whats going on...We can't expect a guy that has to tread carefully to blow games apart. It also doesn't help when the rest of the team does stuff all..

I got faith that Juddy will improve the next couple of week..If he needs to convalesce the club should do it and be patient.

He's unfit and recovering from a serious long term injury. It comes as no surprise that he's been quiet and he's struggling a bit.

Where have you guys been? This isn't news.

He's going along OK and will improve every game, slowly.

No one claimed anything in this thread as "news". There is a difference between not being match fit and struggling with an injury that won't go away. Just trying to gauge the general consensus of what people think is going on...

It should be remembered that Jono Brown took half of last season to return to his powerful best after a similar injury to Judd's (22 goals in the first 11 games of the season, 54 goals in the second half of the season).

According to Eagles' supporters, Judd has always had that grimace. I guess we know who his favorite McDonald's character was, as a child.

..besides we can't expect Judd to win every game for us!

What about Eddie Betts and Simmo and Carrots and Houla and Russell and Stevens! It's about time guys like that started winning games for us! ;)

True, but can you really compare a midfielder who arguably does far more running and work around the ground to a KPP (as much a hard worker Brown is)?

Ultimately it still comes down to match hardness & getting a proper feel for the pace of the game. Both Brown (2006) & Judd (2007) played under great stress prior to their surgery & would have lost their feel for the pace of the game & match hardness, which you don't get when you are playing at less than 100% fitness.

We know Judd did a lot of fitness work during the pre-season, but that will never substitute for game time during the actual season. Judd showed some of his magic at times tonight, including putting on the burners on a couple of occasions, but for him to do that consistently he is going to need at least another 4-5 weeks of match hardening.

You love them, otherwise you wouldn't have clicked on this one.

i am worried about the rest, trust me. anyway, i started a judd thread, so what? probly the only one ive started in the year ive been on this site! i know theres heaps already, so i guess i should apologise for offending u by not digging up one from three weeks ago to get some opinions?

dont u have a thread to be in telling someone their a n00b for not using the search engine anyway?

I think you guys should be happy with his progress considering how bad his injury was previously... Hasn't he gotten the first possession of each game so far? Anyway, he isn't doing his normal thing, breaking apart that opposition half back line, but he certainly is getting near the ball, which will make him better equipped when he has fully recovered... Plus he is being kept in his normal role, which is a hell of a lot better than chucking him in no mans land. Has also had a fair amount of time on field, so obviously it isn't niggling him with pain that much. He just needs to become more accustomed to it and then fire when the muscle has loosened up...

Geez I really hope that he is playing because it's in his best interests and not to sell memberships and stop Swan from looking foolish.

If there are some doctors on this forum, their comments would be appreciated. To me, if he cannot sprint at the 2 minute mark of a match, that is not a fitness issue. Rather, his groin is a problem meaning his career must be in doubt

lol to be honest i didn't even know you started this thread lol ! nah i dont have a thread calling anyone a n00b ? dont know what a no0b is ?

Surely it should not come as a surprise that he is going to need a good 6 - 8 games under his belt to get up and going. Last night was his 3rd game in 6 months and has to get back into the swing of things. The signs will be obvious with him taking the opposition on and kicking over 50 meters. I have a lot of confidence that he will have a good 2nd half of the year and knock those knockers over in the process. I am more concerned with Fev than Juddy.

When you consider that Juddy can't kick over 30 metres at the moment, I find it staggering that Rats wouldn't play him in the forward line a lot more. He is the most creative and most clever player in the league and he makes things happen, so that even if he isn't the one actually kicking the goal, I have no doubt he will make the play for others to do so.

Don't worry about "Waite to the forward line," it's Juddy that needs to play there a lot more. Once he is one hundred percent, play more midfield, but until then, it's forward for me.
