Seems to have done a good job since taking over. Been rather supportive during covid unlike the embarrassment of the liberal party in Victoria. Is he a chance of winning at the next state election even though it’s over a year away

A pity he and his weak police force did nothing to stop the disgusting racial hatred in his sunny city last night.
Imagine instead of Muslims chanting death to Jews they had been neo-nazis?
Riot squad, tear gas, police horses & baton charges would of been called out to clean out those racist scum quick smart.

"Gas The Jews, F**k The Jews'.
NSW police launching an investigation into these anti-Semetic scenes from last night.
Too late to save our international reputation though, these scenes have gone viral around the world and they think Australians hate Jews because of these terrorist supporters.

Half-year NSW Government report card - C.
On the bad side, he's bowed to the pokies lobby and undone the most innovative housing policy change (land tax option vs stamp duty) the state has seen in years. Only a couple of corruption allegations, which is less than expected.
On the good side, banned mobile phones at school and cut back on ridiculous infrastructure spending.

My expectations for Minns were absolutely through the floor, but I was pleasantly surprised by this policy. Urban racecourses are an absurd waste of prime land for housing. Given you can gamble from anywhere, why not have those racecourses closer to where stud farms actually are?

EDIT - maybe my faith was misplaced, this was an unsolicited proposal to the government by the racecourse owner. But at least Minns accepted it.

Id be stunned if they build a new racetrack, that sounds like bluster from racing industry. A new racetrack in 2023 is like buying a betamax in 1983.

That's capitalism I guess. Better when it has positive impacts on a major social issue, but it always makes some rich people even richer regardless. And so it shall remain until enough people want change that the Labor Party gets spooked into doing the right thing.

It happened in Victoria. Pakenham Racecourse was closed and it moved out past Nar Nar Goon

Yes people can gamble from anywhere, but unless you get them to the track at least once or twice to gain an affection with the sport they have no reason to gamble on horses and could just turn their gambling dollar to pokies or sport. Having a presence where people can get to the track every now and again is important, even if 90% of the time the gambling is done on phones away from the track at other times.

That could be addressed by providing buses there from the city.

No, there goes a big chunk of the crowd.
Well, if I were supreme dictator, they choose between that and nothing, because land in the city is far too valuable during a housing affordability crisis. Since I'm not, I'll consider voting for anyone willing to get tough with the racing industry and make them move their facilities (or shut down altogether, since I really don't care for it anyway).

Right, thats your opinion and understandable, but just addressing your point that seemed to paint it as some kind of win for the racing industry if tracks were closer to where studs are located.
