So getting Oliver, Trac AND B.Smith?

In what world do the Cats have enough trade capital to get all three of those players in?

You'd need to trade out Holmes and Miers for a start.
Oliver is a cap Dump.
  • Oliver + Dees 1st for free
  • Trac for Cats futures 1st + Dees 1st
  • Smith for Current 1st + 3rd.

Dees arent that short on cap space that they need to offer a 1st rounder to be rid of Oliver, especially if they trade Trac for picks and enter a rebuild.
Dees will get picks for Oliver if he leaves

The Demons would be better off telling Clarry to just not come to training ever again and take that pick to the draft.

So Melbourne get a future 1st for both Petracca and Oliver? Two players who at their best are top 5 mids in the AFL. Have a think about that one...

Clarry has negetive value and is a cap dump atm. Contracted till 2030. Similar to the Jack Bowes deal.

Players welfare is the main concern here and the GFC is the perfect place for Clarry to ressurect his career.

Trac is going to nominate the cats and hence the dees will only get 50c to the dollar. At 29 with high milage and having a obliterated spleen - 2 x 1sts will get the job done. He wants a tilt at another flag and the GFC is the perfect place.

Cats retiring about 4 players this year + Bowes coming off the 800k p.a contract.

We don’t need cap space, we got ****loads of it.

We haven’t spent the Jackson cap space yet let alone Brayshaw, Hibberd, Ben Brown and Harmes cap.

And soon to be Melksham, Tomlinson, Tmac and ANB cap. (Petracca cap to if he goes).

As someone mentioned, we are better off telling Oliver to not come to training opposed to using a pick to flog him off only to get it back.

Also thanks for telling us Tracs age again, glad someone updated us in the last 5 minutes of his age, had forgotten his age without it being mentioned in 3 posts.

Ah, yes, it would be extremely noble to take Clayton Oliver for free for his welfare.

Yeah that wont happen.

AFL wont let the MFC bury his career.

Its not about whether or not the MFC can afford his contract, rather its about getting a player back to his best, which cant be done at MFC at the moment.

Mackie + Wells cooking as we speak. GFC the best place for those 2 atm.

Please, tell me more, is Mackie and Wells also organising his Travis Boak style US training camp?

If you actually knew anything about the situation you’d know the Oliver Petracca relationship is fractured and Trac certainly wouldn’t be joining him at a new club.

Most of the clubs that have the currency to get this done are the ones that probably shouldn't due to list age profile (e.g. us, Saints).

Essendon is probably the best fit. Perhaps it could be two firsts and someone like Caddy?

My personal view on Melbourne is that they need to rebuild regardless of whether Petracca goes anywhere, so it'd be picks or highly talented young players I'd be after.

His best fit is either staying at Melbourne or going to Collingwood

Why would he want to go to the oldest list in the comp that just failed to back up after a flag….which is a very real issue he has with Melbourne over the last 3 years.

Because he is extremely close with a few Collingwood players and he was a die hard Collingwood fan growing up.

List profile has nothing to do with it, it’s where he will feel happy, which will be to remain at Dees or go to Pies.

I’m extremely close with the lads down at the pub and I feel happy there but no way in hell they can afford me to work there
