Players can say what they want to.

None is going to blast the coach. They'd never be picked again šŸ˜•
I don't worry too much about such public proclamations.

What they say and think behind closed doors is open to conjecture and not necessarily one and the same thing šŸ¤”

I get that mate but itā€™s one thing to sort of openly support the regime and one thing to play a straight bat.

Iā€™m talking more about Dixons comments here than Lycett

Kinda hilarious considering he ploughed into Neil Passmore Craig during his Hinkley-esque camry reign albeit shorter, to the point that Neil won't take his calls.. lol

Rowie loves Ken coaching us, why wouldn't he. We're floundering and likely to be sharing the bottom 1/2 of the table

at year's end with his team. Our fall nicely deflecting their woes. Kingy nails it in that rundown putting the blame

on Ken. Sure he acknowledges the Travis miss but ultimately he drills down on old mate.

As for Charlie having a go at the supporters that's just dumb and ugly. Seriously wtf is going on.

Hinkley is ripping the club apart and probably couldn't care less. It's like his angst with us is personal.

Suddenly we're the enemy for not drinking his Kool Aid. Circling the wagons against the supporters .

My next time at AO will be the ANZAC game out of respect to our past and those who fought for our freedom.

After that... ?

Not sure I agree with that. Patrick Cripps didnā€™t ā€œsupportā€ David Teague, he remained very quiet as did the rest of the team he refused to public support him and was bagged by the media. I think the boys genuinely want Kenny to be successful. I donā€™t mind that, good teams stick together and support each other, they have to have an us against the world mentality.

They're not genuinely trying hard enough. They have to work harder to make Ken successful.

Vic's love ken because he's a Victorian lad and they don't want non Vic's to win flags.

The S.A media is full of crows who love ken because he stops us winning flags and then the port people need hinkley for the jobs .

This along with the afl controlling our board its really really hard for me to have any hope

Well we know how we go honouring past championsā€¦

Just remember we have been about for over 150 years, what we are going thru now is just one small part of our time, it will change, we will rise again and be a dominant force. The issue for us older supporters is will be in our time. We are getting close when it comes to some major changes, pressure is rising, people can not run and hide for ever.

Have a bit of faith, it will turn :)

šŸ˜„ clap clap šŸ˜ƒ

you cant pot the players over the coach situation. They may agree with fans, but they are never going to come out and pot Ken.

Fair play, but watching the presser, Scott seemed more ambivalent about his support than the media chose to portray it.

As one of the last actual Port juniors in the competition he would understand where Port supporters are coming from.

Yep - even if Ken goes eventually. We are not going anywhere for a long time

This was the time, right here.

If youā€™d told me even during the 2014-15 ā€˜Portressā€™-era, let alone 2011-12, that we would ever pull higher crowds than the Crows, Iā€™d have had you committed.

Beyond premierships, weā€™ve pĀ”ssed away every opportunity to reclaim our status as undisputed state hegemon ā€” on and off-field ā€” for the first time since 1990, and for what? To ensure some blow-in coaches for 10 years and seemingly beyond? As if heā€™s the golden Jenga piece that will bring the whole operation down and send us spiralling back to windswept aluminium benches and wall-to-wall Sunday twilight timeslots at West Lakes?

It is absolutely mental.

(Green Bay Packers are somewhat of an exception as they have shareholders who have season tickets).

Seattle Sounders FC: STH vote whether keeping or firing the head coach after the season ends. I think they have a STH council elected for that.

I thought that was only for the first few years they were in the MLS. Didnt realise its still happening

Just checked, they vote for the General Manager. That is more like CDs position with some of the stuff Richo does. The GM appoints the coach.

Garth Lagerwey

General Manager & President of Soccer

Garth Lagerwey joined Sounders FC on January 6, 2015 after more than seven successful seasons with Real Salt Lake. As Sounders FC General Manager and President of Soccer, Lagerwey oversees all soccer operations, including technical staff management, player personnel and transactions, scouting and the oversight of S2 and the Sounders FC Academy system. Like Adrian Hanauer before him, Lagerwey assumes a position that is subject to fan vote every four years as part of the Sounders FC Alliance Charter.........

My bad. Port doesnā€™t have the role. It was supposed to be Chris Davies, but he is not Hinkleyā€™s boss. Itā€™s someone between the CEO and the Football Department. The coach reports to the GM.

It isn't over yet, tribey.

The tide will turn!

Only half of those comments are now visible, with the rest hidden from view before my very eyes with each refresh. It appears that any reference to Hinkley, Koch, or Richardson by name - no matter how civil and fair the comment is - will result in moderation. This must be what they consider 'abuse'.

Lol that reminds me of a comment from my German history teacher way back in the day who said we know East Germany is a democracy because it says so in their title.

He was a very cynical man. šŸ˜‰

Haha I clicked on the link, expecting to pick up lots of censoring and the 2nd post is a quote of a few lines from Richo then attaching a GIf of a bloke giving a little wank gesture. I did LOL.

The "most relevant" replies are all very anti Hinkley, you have to dig a fair way in to get any happy clapper shit, and even then they are getting pretty called out on it. I've not seen this much before, the tide has definitely changed quite significantly.

ā€œWe understand that whatā€™s needed is action, not just wordsā€

They just love the ā€œwe understandā€ line donā€™t they
