Moving on from North …

… would GWS be incentivised to bid on Daicos at pick 2 to help their later pick position? For example, GWS are currently holding pick 53. The earlier Daicos and Darcy are called out, the better that pick 53 becomes. Best case for GWS they call out Darcy at 2 and Daicos at 3, and their pick 53 would become a pick around 45. If Daicos and Darcy go later, then their pick 53 might be closer to pick 49 or 48.

Maybe, but if the bid comes at 3 we're still happy. They may also be happy with just getting Pick 2 out of us in the first place and not feel the need to improve their pick 53 by one more spot.

In general I feel that the "strategic" motivation is more in relation to improving a second or early third round pick for the bidder, not a late 4th round pick that is still going to move up 8-10 spots anyway or, as was the case last year, pushing another interested club away from a prospect the bidder has on their draft board.

After last year's purge, I don't think we need to dump anyone to make salary cap room for Hill.
Kreuger and Lipinski won't cost as much as Mayne and Greenwood so we get some back there.
JT, Cox, Sier, Lynch are all chances to go and as Hill is only a 3 year player, he won't be on that much.

The problem is what can/will we offer?

27 is a chance but then we need to find points elsewhere on the off chance Daicos is bid on at 1. Lynch may get us some points to cover this.
Cox maybe and simply delist JT and Sier as I don't think there's much interest.

The question is, are we really interested?
I would hope so seeing as they looked at Stengle last year.

IMO what would be a successful trade and draft period:

In
1. Daicos ☑
2. Dib
3. Lipinski
4. Krueger ☑
5. Arthur Jones (178 cm) WA

Rookie
6. Michael Gibbons (176 cm) Carlton

Out
1. Mayne ☑
2. Greenwood ☑
3. Cox
4. Thomas
5. Madge

Rookie
6. Tohill

Would love it if the club some how got back into the first round and nabbed Wanganeen-Milera, exceptional talent!
Tohill has gone home to study medicine.

Ian Hill is no good, Ginnivan is already better than him too

Which big money players are changing teams? So far it's literally just been Cerra. It's not as if big money players are being exchanged a lot this season, so I would like to know how you're gauging our cap to be bursting.

It's been reported by the media, just like in 2020, and even Walsh come out and said we are "not out of the woods yet" in regards to our salary cap issues, so I think it's pretty obvious.

WITH FKIN WHAT??????????
Didn’t you report someone for being abusive the other day?

What did Pablo do to deserve that response? We actually have the trade currency todo a deal if we wanted, the main issue would likely be salary.

14 goals for 17 games doesn't scream the quality people are making out. But he is young, talented and can kick a screamer for sure.

He's probably a victim of GWS's loaded midfield / small brigade and has been the medical sub a fair bit which limits his impact.

Has bags of talent though:

If it were a draftee within our grasp with that tape we'd be all over him, but now he comes with a mature body and 3 years in the system.

I think I have got it right.. Happy to be corrected an educated, but otherwise, we will see what happens in late November.
That is the reason we ask for and get picks 78 and 79 in trades. Otherwise, just forgo them….
It'd make sense in terms of the pick swap for 27 us and Richmond were supposedly discussing. It seemed like a strange one for us, but that would have been a ripper deal if that rule is correct. unplugged's dream of owning all the picks in the 40s would rock if that's the rule.

C9 saying Essendrugs & Pies sniffing around - will cost a future 1st but would do that for sure.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

For that price we pass. HE might get GWS a future first at the back end of the first round, with a late second or third round pick going back the other way maybe.

Why would it be surely? We more than most have zero reason to be interested in any of them.

Tight cap? Tick.

In rebuilding mode? Tick.

Not contending for top 4 in the next 3-4 years minimum? Tick.

Acquiring a late-20's player on decent coin is something a finals / flag contender does, not a rebuilding team.
You can tick all you like
But I would be surprised to see Gunston in Black and white
Next season

we still have uncontracted players
That most likely will not be at the club
