^This. After his second half of the 2021 season it feels like he’s ripe to explode next year if he has a good preseason too…
Early signs are promising:

Signing DeGoey and Moore.

Should we wait until mid to late in the season to see where we finish on the ladder?

Pies potentially bottom 2/3 we might be more open to getting competition compared to 9/10

I feel like where potentially playing with fire then again I can't see us getting them on the cheap even if they both have bad seasons.

Thoughts on the strategy?

Early signs are promising:
De Goey is 118 games into a potential career explosion. He can play but don't understand the circle jerk over him, if he was half the player Dusty is I'd be joining in. Even if it means embarrassing myself.

Happy to delist Madge...even if it means rookie listing him.
I'd replace him with Brander, Madge is depth at best.

Sign Moore, we can wait with De Goey and see if he's willing to accept a reasonable offer and see if he actually has a good consistent season for once in his career.

I'm very encouraged by the idea of JDG turning up fit! Tony Shaw did exactly what makes Jordy cringe and made another Dusty comparison. :)

I find the wobble-boards and battle rope training combo a little w*nky but if it freshened up his routine and led to him training with enthusiasm on his own initiative that's cool.

Moore first, agreed.

We don't know how the change of coach and environment will impact JDG. It might be exactly what he needs. Until we find out, engage a holding pattern.

Yup and you can see that Fyfe comparison when he moves through traffic! If I had to guess what his issue is it’s that he doesn’t have the confidence.

Taylor Adams worst centering kick of the footy I’ve ever seen he not only can’t execute, but he also chooses the wrong option more often than not. The thing is he doesn’t care that he had one of the worst turnover kicks in GF history he will take that option til the day he retires because he has confidence.

Tyler should be in full training by now post surgery and should be as big as he’ll ever get when he returns so if he doesn’t have an AFL body plus the confidence to match he’s done, IMO.

I'm a big Taylor Adams fan... When he first arrived he butchered every kick greater then 30 meters... Never landed a target... Since then I feel he transformed his kicking game with discipline to kicking 30 meters max with a exceptional target hitting strike rate. This is a very discipline player who transformed his initial deficiencies. Sometimes it's too easy to follow the crowd and bag someone. Anyway .. Just my thoughts.... A A_geader for me.

I’d be more inclined to sign Degoey now based on his current output…I’m guessing however he’ll want to wait and get the best deal. Hoping there is some loyalty in there and that Brodie can take a pay cut…

Every player in the AFL from every position is an upgrade on Madgen.
That’s a bit harsh. He’s serviceable albeit in a defensive game plan, will probably be more exposed if we play more attacking. Happy for him to be delisted, as I don’t think he’s a premiership calibre player but he’s good depth.

Another point is that he is pretty much our only hard nut inside mid, so he is often under pressure. He's a heart & soul type of player. He needs help inside, so hopefully McInnes & the Browns show something next season.

His disposal efficiency is rated “below average” so that’s just blatantly wrong. I’m not disputing his quality as a footballer, although I think he’s somewhat overrated by Collingwood people, what I’m suggesting is he should never ever take that centering option for the rest of his career, but I know he’ll continue to do it.

FWIW if he’s to reach the standard you’re holding him to he needs to get more involved offensively by both kicking goals and helping to set them up.

Have a look at where their home ground was in the later stages and the huge expansion growth in their supporter base due to the growth corridor that their recruiting zone was in.

Also flip the coin back to Collingwood's golden era from 1902 to 1958 we likewise won 13.

Nothing remains static junior, fortunes wax and wane, now however all teams are on the imposed 'premiership cycle', forced to perform the cycle for the professed sake of 'equalization' but actually for the fiscal benefit of media and betting companies.
I take your point, but getting back to Kappa's original post, we need to build properly rather than try a quick fix. Richmond won 3 in 4 years & Melbourne have recruited smartly & look like being a force for some time. In both cases, it took a number of years of careful planning. It's encouraging that we now seem to be starting out on a similar path. The ultimate success is never guaranteed, but if we plan properly, we improve the odds.

No argument regarding Tay, he's a terrier and his job should be to get first hands to the pill and feed it out - first option. Let the link players do the precision stuff.

Having said that there are a hard core that have wanted him gone since he landed at the club.

I won't argue with that junior because sadly as much as we would love it to be not everything is black and white in football.

I have no idea what Kappa said because I have him blocked but I agree quick fix is a seductive trap, the only way to buck the system is to be better than the system.

Eye test and stats say you are horribly wrong. Adams kicking efficiency is 52.8. Below average for AFL and the worst of his career for 2021. He is among the AFL leaders in turnovers and clangers per game.

Yes, GW has already shown he is a huge improvement on the Eddie, Neddy & Gubby show.
