Do I qualify as an ITK poster now?

Also Taranto's best mates are Collingwood nuffies, prefers us to Richmond but GW is hesitant to part with our first rounder.
International Tae-Kwando? Iranian Tyrant-King? Inspirational Tyre-Kicker?

Easier for us who aren't 'in the know' if you just spell things out for us. Saves noggin-scratching time...

2 x Daicos, Adams are small. Adding another won't help imo.

BTW you reckon he'll come cheap? This bloke is on massive money.
He’s a ball magnet and competing against bigger mids hasn’t stopped him. When you’re prolific at winning the ball, size is less of an issue.
Look at Neale, who’s smaller than Mitchell.

Our bigger bodied midfield kids will have a great mentor.

Why would we want him if he’s not cheap?

I guess it's easy to look at things in retrospect but the infamous 2020 trade period doesn't seem as disastrous as it felt back then. Was it a touch of forsight and genius by the club?

  • Tom Phillips: Delisted within 2 years.
  • Atu Bosenavulagi: In and out of the squad over the past two years and OOC.
  • Jaidyn Stephenson: Nowhere near the player he was in his Rising Star year and has not lived up to the potential. Dropped several times this year and has been moved around positionally as well.
  • Adam Treloar: Maybe the one that hurts us considering we are still paying for him as well. But we essentially got Ollie Henry in that trade so not all bad.

Well Richmond are out and Taranto hasn't nominated them yet so maybe we are still a chance?
Doesn’t have to nominate immediately.
If nothing by Tuesday next week…then we are definitely still in the race subject to Grundy situation, I suspect.

As long Henry stays at Collingwood

You're adding him to an already small midfield. The way he left Sydney I've never considered him the mentor type. There are better players already at the club to mentor the kids.

I don't think he will be cheap and he is a different player to Neale.

Neale is quick and can burst from a stoppage. That's not Mitchell's game. He has average speed and doesn't hurt by foot. He is an accumulator with short handballs and kicks.

I just don't think he will suit the fast direct game macrae wants to play.

Anyone have any views on Setterfield or Dow from Carlton?
Neither will be getting games ahead of Cripps, Walsh, Kennedy & Hewett.

Adam Treloar was handled poorly but if it was in America, no-one would have cared. Unless he wins a flag, we're probably walking out winners of that trade.

Phillips was a smart move and he was fine with it, Atu was a speculative draft pick and Jaidyn has been a cliched, stereotypical Jaidyn (no offence if that's your name but there is a stereotype attached to it. Particularly an alternative spelling).

I was speaking of Mentor in terms of insight and advice in how to play in the midfield.
I used the example of Neale because you were clearly concerned Mitchell is small, and I pointed out the former is smaller.
By your own subsequent qualification about Neales’ other strengths, you have at least dismissed size as an issue.

As a former Brownlow medalist it’s quite strange (given his continuing excellent output ) that you feel Mitchell has got nothing to offer.

Ultimately GW, will give us the answer.
