If Grundy did go to the Dees, I rather have their future first than this year’s pick.

Can see the Demons not making the 8 next year. 🤷🏽‍♂️

If they somehow lost to Brisbane I could actually see them dropping out of the 8 next year too

Can’t see them dropping like that. We need to build now not later. Sooner we get picks sooner we develop them. Plus the amount of potential talls this year I’m keen to have available picks

We dodged a bullet with Taranto and Hopper, GWS want 2 first round picks for Taranto and a top 10 pick for Hopper, unfortunetly, they want a second rounder for Hill.

We offered them two picks last year around late 30s/early 40s and they didn’t take them.
His value didn’t all of a sudden increase 12 months on.
What we paid for Lipinski is about right for Hill

How this is a good idea I’ll never know. I’d prefer to put some time into Kelly and McMahon

I'd say our recruiters rate players who perform in the SANFL and see Frampton replacing the equivalent of Keane, Kelly, McMahon or Madgen (whatever happens with list decisions) on the list. He will cost just about nothing. We get a taller key defender when we only now have Moore. Frampton is pulling in ridiculous numbers in the SANFL for his role, is athletic, tall, a great field kick and intercept mark - the query is his man marking, noting we generally zone. Low risk, high reward. I think it makes a lot of sense.

GWS are kidding themselves if they want a second rounder for a guy who is out of contract and hasn't played AFL since May.

I think even Lipinski was worth more last year than what Hill is worth now.

Think people seem to forget Moore’s previous history, if he goes down who’s left? Dean hasn’t played a single game, and is no guarantee to play. There’s nobody left.

Since round 11, they have lost 7 out of 13. This doesn’t include a last minute win to the Blues. I think teams are slowly starting to figure them out.

ok a hypothetical - let’s say for Grundy we get two first rounders (picks in the teens).

Which player would you give up three first rounders for? (Like cats did with Cameron with second rounders coming back).

I heard that too and was struck by how Edmund went out of his way to say that although GWS had salary cap issues they wanted to clear, they weren’t going to have to roll over in the trades.
Stark contrast to how they report our trade leverage when clearing salary isn’t it.

Stocker went public with anxiety issues a couple of years ago and has remained public about it ever since.
Clubs won't disclose this information unless a player allows it as confidentiality is a fundamental right with healthcare. If it's well-handled and Stocker accepts help, then it's not a reason not to sign him. But personally, I do not rate Liam Stocker and his name is greatly inflated by the opinion of Silvagni.

That’s all good and well, but somebody with mental health problems is not ideal. Nothing against him, wish him all the best but we have to bring in the best and most capable. Resilience is big part of playing professional sport .
Resilience is a must, but "Mental health problems" is a pretty bloody big basket to cross out and I suspect you'd be crossing out some highly resilient stars of the game. No idea about Stocker's situation. Good luck to him and I hope he gets another chance somewhere and works hard enough to make it.

I rate him, except his running. Rendell talks about Collingwood changing their recruiting criteria due to Patty Cripps. They'd crossed him off in his draft year because he couldn't run. SOS thought they could repeat the Cripps success story by trafting another talented mid who couldn't run. Unfortunately for the Blues, this one still can't run - he's an example of the reason why the Pies put a line through Cripps.

He’s the second best ruck in the comp at his worst. Potentially gets back to his best after his layoff. He does things that no other ruck can do.
Grundy hasn’t been a top 2 ruck for a long time. 3 years in fact. Potentially gets back to his best, but most likely won’t get close. Do you want a million dollar ruck who breaks even with rucks the calibre of Andrew Phillips?

That's good, GWS has now let us know what they expect as best case scenario for Hill, it's now up to us to negotiate middle ground
