Based on this year, 27 is overs. He is a vanilla pudding on 2 legs.**** that, pick 27 isn't good enough for Witts.

Bids from other teams become irrelevant if Witts nominates GC as his destination club.Yeah I guess it depends how much they want him. An offer of pick 27 leaves GC open to a lower bid from another team. We were trying to keep our 2016 first round pick this time last year.
Based on this year where he was putting out career best numbers in the VFL but being kept out of the seniors by injury and the exceptional form of Grundy?Based on this year, 27 is overs. He is a vanilla pudding on 2 legs.
Brian's Taylor wasn't in Richmond's best 20 when we got him because they had Roach.Pick 27 for a guy who has played VFL all year and isn't in our best 22 is pretty good.
If GC are offering that we should be making that deal happen in the first few seconds of trade week before they change their mind.

Mayne is free agent, no trade requiredOur draft day focus will be on our FS and accumulating sufficient points to secure Brown & Daicos. They'll burn effigies of Hine & Eddie at the Holden Centre if they bigger these two up.
Outside of them I don't expect we'll be overly active on the pick front in the first 2 rounds, if clubs bid earlier than we expect for these two it may well soak up our points and push into the back end rounds. Like when Doggies bid early for Darcy. Not exactly sporting of them.
It looks like our activity will more likely involve direct cattle swaps in the trade period e.g. Williams to Freo and a some cross dealings with another club to secure us Mayne.
I'm still getting my head around this points system.
The father's club, if it wishes to select the son, must then use its next one or more draft picks until the total points value of the surrendered picks adds up to the value of the draft pick used by the bidding, less a discount – which is either 20% of the bid value or 197 points (equivalent to pick No. 56), whichever is greater.
Any points left over after reaching the bid value result in the draft pick being shuffled down the order.
Outside of FS selections we need to focus on our KPD stocks - FB & CHB that can move laterally combined with running backmen. Brown isn't a solution and poor old Reid is stuck together with tape. We need a trade coup in this space more than any other area on the ground.
We can't launch a premiership campaign over the next few years without getting the back 6 cemented.

Keep the building works going.Continue rebuild, no player over 27/28.
Similar position as Cloke. If he keeps going the way he is they'll be lucky to get a second. Can't imagine anyone would be happy to pay him big $$$ as it is.
They don't need 1 - they need 4 -too many front runners with pea heartsDon't know if said earlier but Geelong going down and only Duckwood & DangerFigjam only standing up will make Cats go harder than ever to trade in a classy midfielder, maybe Wells or Lids!

Age profile? They need fresh blood. We are buying ourselves time for the young brigae to come through.Don't know if said earlier but Geelong going down and only Duckwood & DangerFigjam only standing up will make Cats go harder than ever to trade in a classy midfielder, maybe Wells or Lids!

It's not exactly a big 'if'. When was the last time a player asked for a trade but didn't nominate his destination? If. Also Witts is not RFA or FA so we still have to agree to deal. It's not as if we're without leverage here.
Are you high? The coach says get a player and the list management and officals offer him the deal. FFS.

You clearly didn't watch much VFL this year. Witts has improved a great deal. The preliminary final was an aberration, not the norm.

*crosses fingers and toesPick 22 for Witts is about right
