For me Sinner adds enough 1 v 1 so it does very much come down to where you want the ball turned over I'm also very bullish about Maynard's ability to win contests in D50.

IMO, Sinner's ball use is nowhere near as bad as advertised and with the game unfolding in front of him (frontal pressure) as opposed to it chasing him he's a reliable user.

Maynard is rough around the edges, but he'll hold his own in ground level one on one's its when he's isolated against smart players that are always on the move that he gets exploited. That's a system breakdown though. A good case to look at for Maynard was v Betts. He was solid when shoulder to shoulder with him, but got lost in transition because Betts is like a fire cracker withhis reactions.
Like to see Sinclair around the wing forward 50 arc
The lad has some pace and would add to our forward pressure
Just saying and a tactic

It depends on their attributes, IMO. At that height they need vice like hands, pace off the mark and a good tank. By all reports Battle's tank is draft best (Snoop, Knight or VV would need to confirm) so I'd be supremely comfortable taking him within the top 20-25 if he doesn't have any issues with work rate.
Battle has all 3 of those from what I hear.

I've not seen Battle so I'll take your word for it. Agree that they need to be pretty special at that height to make it as a key forward though. Many at that inbetween height fail

Of course in the real world people would not be selfish when it comes to protecting their career. People forget that for these guys it's their livelyhood. Frost would have had a contract on the table and considering most of his time at collingwood was as a rookie listed player it's not like he has been making good coin. He is still trying to make his way. I think you are being very harsh
He was a rookie but elevated so would of been on good money....he played 50 games quite quickly.....up until halfway through season barley played VFL surprised he was so quick to jump ship

Am I the only one that would like to see Hamish Hartlett running off the half-back flank? Always thought he was reasonably talented.
Not sure what he'd cost us though.

So much this. Only mid id be open to drafting is Villis. But guys like Logue, Battle, Kerr, Maibaum, McCarthy should be our priority. Bolton be good too as an X factor crumbing fwd but I think Daicos should provide that.
From the albeit very limited viewing of him, I like the Bolton kid a lot. Reminds me a bit of Stephen Hill

Bye Frosty, hehe, hilarious that anyone would offer him a 3 year deal, but then again it's the Lions.

Straight away Fagan sees what he has to deal with.

Means we have to keep Brown at all costs now.

Ironically seems like us getting Wells has turned North off Brown as they wouldn't get compensation for Wells if they got NB.

It's very clever really. Very happy if that's the outcome. Especially if we get a decent pick for Frost.

Absolutely re Fagon's directive. That defensive setup was woeful early year and I did get a chuckle out of the average BF punter being bang on with our need to tighten up!

The issue was that we weren't quick enough by foot or in the mind to implement it which lead to too much lag and some bog ordinary defensive passages. The St Kilda replay should be burned into the retinas of the FD!

That was my general feel with Maynard he just couldn't transition from U18 to VFL to AFL level and what was expected with each jump. Bar the North match ge'd settled well late season.

FWIW bringing it back on topic. Frost + 25 for Cutler anyone? Now he is one about to explode 18.5 ppg @78% for 414 metres gained has breakout written all over it given he's entering his 4th season! Worst case scenario it gets the blood pressure of lurking Brions supporters to spike ;)
Now we are talking Sco. We should definitely look to target him. Might be hard to get from the lions but we have heard that before ;)

Nice work there, maybe Frost + 61 though?

On Battle, he sounds to me like an excellent addition to a forward line of Moore + White/Cox... never seen him, but everything I have read says good mark, good kick, good set shot, good tank, works hard... only negative is not quite tall enough. With 2 forward spots taken by Moore and one of White or Cox, a few cm height wouldn't matter imo if he has those other traits. Great name too.

For me, he's just too injury prone for what you would pay for him. They would want a pick around 10 no doubt.

Cost too much I think. If we were going to add a player like this, would prefer Hanley for a similar price... Think we need to spend our currency on talls though (along with 2x F/S)

He's that sort that Richmond would pay top dollar for and he'd under perform but Richmond supporters would say had a great year.

Port will suck a club in to pay a first rounder or more for him.

I'd put it in the Buckley's and none category because he's traditionally the type of player we've given a wide berth plus he's a definite untouchable ;)

The one caveat to his season is that I think his numbers were padded by the kick out. He's very much in the Heath Shaw play on and kick it another 50 mould, but I would like us to chase him all the same!

Could grow a few cm's ? If he could just get to 194-196.

True 25 was generous given the deal they have on the table for Frost!

On face value I agree. I'm not as in tune with the draft as I once was so with him having those traits I can't help asking "but what's the catch?". It could well be a Darling type situation, he may not have enough tricks when the ball hits the deck or his type isn't in demand, but he does seem a good complimentary player to the forward mix we already have.

Who know's the grand plan might be Mayne at $600k-$450k-$300k-$150k (yr 1-4) whilst we develop Battle underneath. I just think a selection between 15 and 20 is key for that sort of strategy. The issue there obviously being that we're stuck with Mayne for 4 years...

From what I have read Melbourne are sniffing around him. He definitely has some run and carry but he's not too bad at the 3rd tall option down back too. He'd be a handy pick up.

I want Green more then i want Wells.

Get Green fit and in a professional enviroment and watch him kick goals.

Wells holds his head up with the best mids in the game. Green was struggling at times to get a game in an extremely ordinary Brisbane.
