Keeffe better than him so no biggy. Need to keep Brown and add atleast 1 of Logue, Maibaum, McCarthy though.
Agree on Keeffe
I think he'll surprise a few and go ok.
Tall too, really too

Hav

e a look at Keefees last season stats...hopefully he can return to that type of form.
Or a year before.
Kept ave up the next season.

But jokes aside, Keeffe is like a new trade in ways

Keeffe has had two years out of the game, I hope he comes back and plays some really good football, he's had enough time to think about it and prepare for it.
Keeffe is not the answer, IMO. He does have nice ball skills for a big bloke but realistically is too tall to play in defence. In particular, he's too slow to turn when the ball goes over his head and is a liability once the ball hits the ground. Smart forwards will lead him under the ball and then beat him back to it, repeatedly. Get used to seeing plenty of goals out the back if Keeffe's a regular in our backline. Realistically he's ruckman sized but lacks the aggression to play in the ruck. I can't see any AFL-level role for him unless he transforms himself into a key forward but he has zero runs on the board in that role. On balance, I expect he'll replace Witts as a permanent fixture in the VFL team.

De Goey's last few games of the year were really good. I'm tipping him to be the big break out player of 2017.

On Vickery, I reckon the Tigers will get an end of 2nd round pick. After academy picks etc, that's probably likely to be around pick 40. That's probably about right given the length of contract on offer.

I think as a comparison, Nathan Brown would probably get a 2nd round selection tied in with our pick....so probably pick 26 (or around 30 after academy selections).

We'd be lucky to get a first rounder for De Goey...he's got poor-average afl form.

I think that's a common misconception. As far as second year players I'd say he's outperforming Petracca, McCartin, Pickett (definitely), Brayshaw, etc. Probably everyone except Heeney. People are just too impatient.

Gold Coast just confirmed interest in Witts.

Marcus Ashcroft from Gold Coast just confirmed he's spoken with Wittsy and his management. He's hoping to add him to their midfield.

I know Nicholls has signed a 2 year deal with GC but was dropped a couple of times through the year but I felt Eade doesn't have faith in him. Eade has also worked with Wittsy before and knows what he's about.

Only problem with the blokes you just named is that 3 of them have had serious injuries.

You could also argue that players like Wright, Lever, Laverde, Maynard, McClean and Miller have all done more and they were all taken after JDG.

If he is "off the rails", then it reflects poorly on our club culture.
Not really champ, he was like that before he got to the Pies, spoke to a close sports journo mate of mine and was peddling the same info to me which I didn't believe, he was adamant that this was all the talk with JDG and that Pies are looking for a BIG deal only to off load him... stay tune.
I know I've just added to this back can we not make the next 500 posts on JDG????

The fact his nickname is Googs probably should have had alarm bells ringing
You do know that "Goey" is also drug slang. You're a long way off if you think having the nickname Googs reflects badly on him.

I wouldn't read anything into this, in fact everyone can stop slandering the poor bloke. He is a gun and fully committed to being an AFL player. Rumours of him being "off the rails" and disliked by his peers are complete bollocks.
