There's alot of scape goats to go around. But I don't understand how rioli and Ryan are always scapegoats. Like why pick those two blows my mind .

People are focusing their hatred at the worst directions. Even Waterman at times and darling.

Hell most of our talented forwards are a target. Even though they perform above the skins. Backline forwhatevrr reason gets no heat

Because he isn’t any good..in fact he is so bad as a defender they tried to make him a ruckman and a defensive forward….
How are you getting a first rounder for an unfit forward / 2 min a quarter mid who averages 12 disposals a game and kicks at less than 60% for this season who has dodgey hamstrings and off field issues???

Good luck..

Are there any of our players you don’t actively hate?

Haven’t read the last few pages but I assume ‘laconic’ has been thrown around a bit

I think North will get a few priority picks with the intention of them getting traded for mature players.

It may be better if they did.

As they have nothing after their 1st untill pick 55.

And if the AFL gifts them PP's to trade in mature players how would it look if they shafted a club with pick 1 in the psd?

Id suggest the AFL would ensure that didnt happen as it would be a terrible look.

Ryan isnt having much impact up forward ,unfortunately a high flying small like him is always going to struggle with a shite midfield hardly ever getting the ball into the forwards and when they do its poo.
He has however been covering a lot of ground and helping out in defence a fair bit so hes not standing around twiddling his thumbs when the balls constantly in the backline

So Carkson likes the sound of Ben Long and Junior.

Knows a bit about footy does Clarko.;);):thumbsu:

Hey guys I know our weakness is in our midfield and we will be looking at 2 mids with our first 2 picks.
But with the 2nd pick in the twenties would we consider Keeler 198cm fwd who can ruck ?
His highlights look pretty impressive and v good foot skills for a big man.
Would be an upgrade on Bailey Williams immediately

His Last Name is Rioli and he's a Premiership winning player.

It would absolutely shit me if North get free picks for being shit and use one of them to poach one of our most talented players. We finished second last, equal last on wins. Priority picks aren't there to make the shit clubs weaker.

For the record i hope rioli stays, but it wouldnt be the worst thing for us if he took a better contract.

*as long as it’s not to North Melbourne via the PSD

Now agreeing to do THAT, would be dirty.

but honestly, the club is in the shit, any bloke who wants out should be quickly jettisoned, you need every bloke on the list pulling in the same direction at times like this.

After having minimal attachment to Rioli since 2019, his bit part cameo of 2022 didn't really change anything for myself. We never really truly got him back.

Still forget he's even playing occasionally, or really on our list, given he's not hitting the heights of 18-19 and only played 13 games for 14 goals this year.

We know what he's capable of, but there's no guarantees he even gets back to that. It's not like he's been fit or had a good run at footy recently, let alone his recent family grief. No issues whatsoever if he's keen on leaving, well within his rights. Take whatever compensation we can get and move on.

If he signs on again, even better. I just hope the club doesn't wet their pants and cave to his salary/contract demands. His worth is almost at rock bottom right now, not in the position to be making any demands.

Rioli will tear it up at a top 4 club.
The only reason he hasn't done much with us is because we are shit house and hardly have it in the forward line.
His a creative forward. Can't create if the the ball rarely gets in there.

If we trade him to North, Hawks, Port
Won't be much different for him then playing for us as those clubs are all equally shit. Maybe Port might help him get it more since they are doing a tad better but at 28 next year can't see him doing too much for any of those clubs either.

In saying that it's a pick close to low 20s for him. We have to get a return. Can't have other clubs poaching our players expecting us to bend over everytime.

A lot of people quite happy to trade the most talented player on our list.

Surely keep it simple and try keep the good players right?
I think its more a case of being pragmatic in the circumstances, a highly tainted 28 year old who may want out for personal reasons. If so, the club needs to recoupe some of the massive investment it has made in supporting the player.
