Maximum you can have on the main list is 38. Minimum is 36

My bad. You are correct then the only way to open up another main list spot is too either delist someone completely or move them into the rookie list. That’s looking like Winder unless Hurn pulls the pin or we get another surprise like Redden or Langdon.

Looks like West & Trew survive unless we want extra rookie picks or we move Winder from the main list.

This would be a mistake. JJ showed a lot down back.
He certainly gave us something down back. His decision making will surely improve as the team improves.hopefully he will have a wider range of options to kick to. As far as sending him forward he has a serious set of wheels and is a good tackler. If we are looking at him for both options it shows how fast he has improved and his increased importance to the team.

So with Rioli and Langdon gone, who plays half forward/small forward/pressure forward?

The three obvious ones are Ryan, Cripps and Petruccelle.

Then we have Kelly and Sheed who are both more suited to an outside midfield role and very comfortable playing half forward.

Next there is Shuey - I for one have been looking at how we might prolong his career as his hammies are suspect and he was not that effect in the guts in 2022.

Then we have Culley - probably more the Waterman role but he was playing more the forward in his draft year and it was more so in his overage year that he went to the midfield but still spent some time resting forward.

Next we will have Phillipou - again a Fyfe style forward who should transition to the midfield once he gets the suitable body shape.

I would be OK taking Jones. I know others have said he is a midfielder but he is too small for the stoppages and his midfield skills off a half forward would be great.

Hough is another who played half forward in his draft year.

The reality for me is that loads of options and I would also like us to nab Dewar as a Cat B.

I had The Ming Dynasty in my top 5 dynasties, so if we can replicate them that would be a great result.
Tang Dynasty all the way.

Emperor Taizong and Empress Wu.

We need to delist everyone over the age of 22 and just stop up with yooth.

22? Are we running a retirement home? No one over 15 will be there for our next flag.

And that is what a dynasty is. It changes and evolves over time. The names change but the overriding dominance remains.
The Ming Dynasty lasted from 1368–1644, nearly 300 years.
Do you think the 'team' that was there at the end was not very different to that that was there at the beginning?
Lol - that is a good point. The media always use it to describe one generation winning multiple flags, but you're right in saying it should be generation after generation achieving it.

From that perspective, our club has done very well. We have very few 200 game players that have not played in a flag. Most (or maybe all) of those who missed out at least played in a GF (ie had a chance to win one).

I would love to see Darcy Jones given a crack, he’s got serious swervability.
110%

Darcy Jones is the type of player we've consistently overlooked. I can see him winding up at Sydney, Bulldogs etc...

Yep and we’ve played the most boring, uninspiring football of any team in the comp. It makes me want to chunder watching the kick the ball sideways/backwards crap.

Shuey. He's served us well in the midfield but it's time to hand over the keys.

One of GWS late first rounders is my guess .
Gws need small forwards and just lost bobby hill .

Jones interviewed really well and for a team that is constantly losing players its a big plus .
