I think Port will move up the ladder again. They had a down year with a transition to Rozee being the main man and SPP being the bull. I expect Rozee to continue on and Wines to come back into form. Their second rounder could be mid 30s. If two clubs are into him and one is offering 4 years then it goes without saying he is highly rated. I'd be wanting a pick between 20 - 25, or some deal that improves our position.
I disagree.
Reckon Port will slide.

I read somewhere they were 2-7 against the top 8 teams this year.
Dixon is another year older and they're ordinary down back.

Best time to cash in on Dusty, take the salary off your books and get draft capital to help the rebuild.

The had an exceptional draft last year - got 5 high quality kids and are in a good position to draft well again this year. They could really speed it up by trading Dusty whilst he still has trade value.
Dusty has no trade value IMO.

it could go either way, but I'm not willing to gamble and end up with pick 35. Port would have to come bottom 6 for us to get what I thin Junior is worth.

Not sure if stats are correct but it says that he gained a total of 4m for his team. At least he did kick a goal.
Probably true, and that was from when he goaled. He was tagging so was mainly running towards Richmonds goals when getting disposals and handballing backwards to free players.

So metres gained wasn't a good metric to base his game on last night. Prestia got 36 supercoach, and Cotchin 56 (which most of it would've been first half before). So you see the nullifying impact he had, which was his role.

Name one club who would pay 1.3 dollars a year x 2 for him.
I was more about trade value rather than contract.

I thought his contract was front loaded too, GWS might be one with the reported amount of players coming of their books.

He's on 2.6 for the next 2 years.

GWS have salary cap issues.
That's why the need to offload guys like Taranto.

You're not going offload youngs mids for an injury prone Dusty on a million plus.

There may be a club who thinks they can pinch a flag by plonking him in the F50, but generally speaking, he's cooked.
And he's not that great of a fwd when starting there. Does all the damage when he runs from the center and gets a mismatch on a winger or something.

What trade value exactly?

Great player, but as per last night is not a midfielder.
Are you saying that Bolton has been playing as a midfielder in 2022? If so, I beg to differ on that. In fact the conversation with journalists was along the lines that when/if Dusty returns, Richmond need to keep Bolton playing midfield.

I did not watch the game last and assume that Richmond tried something different but the reality is that Bolton has been playing significant midfield time most games and carving it up. In the AA team, he was named as a HFF as was Petracca. That is how the AA team is compiled - full of balanced midfielders on the HBF, the wings and the HFF.

Yep
Not at 1.3 million a year.
Missed 7 games last year.
Thirteen games this year.

They reckon he's fallen out of love with the game.

I reckon Richmond would love to get rid of him.
You know sometimes the previous club picks up some of the player's salary?

I'm going to guess the Tigers aren't going to pick up $1m a year worth of salary. He's cooked, doesn't seem to have any interest in AFL anymore. Wouldn't want him anywhere near a young and impressionable list like Gold Coasts.

Kyron Hayden delisted by North, odds of us throwing him a lifeline?
Exactly how bad do you have to be to be delisted by North?

This year, from 23 games he's had:
  • two games with 25 touches or more (29, 30); and
  • seven games with 20 touches or more (20, 20, 21, 23, 24, 29, 30).

He's a great player, and I'd love him at the Eagles, but has not shown he can be a full time midfielder.

Fair play, I thought initially from the way they were reporting on him here and him possibly going north that he was out of contract. My bad, I should've checked.

I know their is a cap squeeze at GWS, but isn't it by reports that Taranto, Hopper, Bruhn and Hill want to leave. So not really moving on those players, it's them choosing to leave. So if they did lose all of those players, they'd have cash.

I don't have one, but it was more from Tigers perspective that I make the initial comment, if a club was interested in him it would be a good time to move him on.

  • Club can do a quick replenishment of draftees.
  • Move salary off their books (not uncommon these days to pay part of salary to move the bulk of it off your own)

Anyway, I don't feel passionate enough about this topic to really keeping going with it. Initial comment was from Tigers perspective for regrowth.

I doubt anyone will pick him up. It's not impossible though. People are talking to me as if I have said he will likely get traded, or Richmond will pay $1m of his salary. All I have said is it is possible.

Not that i'd necessarily be interested, but what has happened to Tom Phillips? Delisted by Hawks, he used to rack it up on the wings for the Pies

Been playing pure midfield in the VFL since 2019 but only majority midfield at AFL this year.
Would have had 5 disposals all game? Its easy to be the freewheeling forward running midfielder in Richmonds system, ample opportunity to get crumbs front and centre and with his pace have shots at goal all day long. Problem is that kind of play doesn't stack up in finals.
