Medi sub scrapped and replaced by a tactical sub. So 4 on the bench + tactical sub.

Nothing like an AFL draft day rule change. Will this affect anyone's draft day plans in any way?

I wouldnt think so.

But the players who have tactical sub qualities will be licking their lips.

The more think about it the more I hope this year ends the hype on 190cm midfielders.

Honestly the idea of drafting 190cm midfielders should be immediately linked to slow plonkers or slow skinny scared cats (branders)

It seems everyone is the next Bont but disregarding the fact Bont is a once in a blue moon player

I fear Ginbey and Allen who are the next Bont are both these types of players and will be duds.

How many Culley clones do we need?
Agreed. I’ve heard this bloke Colledge has some skills though

I fear Ginbey is the next Yeo will be a HBF.

Six of the last eight Brownlows have been won by midfielders 187cm or over. And none of them are Bont.

They might not need to be in the 190s but the sub-6 foot guys are slowly getting pushed out.

Unless the northern clubs have a side pact, this is a competition and if you want to be stronger than your opponent, you need to weaken them.

Please Giants, bid on Ashcroft. They have been quite smug as a club and the time to weaken them is just after 4 pm today.

I have no idea why the Giants wouldn't bid on Ashcroft. North Melbourne were absolute peanuts not to bid on Daicos last year (because they wanted the feel good story of getting the number 1 pick). Doesn't feel so good now he's been traded home after one season.

The media seem to be running with an idea that the prestige of number 1 means no club will bid at that selection. I would have thought it is better to be selecting at 2nd as it takes the pressure/scrutiny off your player that number 1 picks always get.

I don't get why more clubs don't bid tactically, bids always seem to come later than where the player is ranked. The threat of bid not being matched is pretty minimal. I hope us or someone bids on Davey before Bombers' 2nd pick just so we can slide up one place.
Or is it an unspoken understanding that we wont bid on your guys and should we ever cash in on a father son, we'll get our dicks scratched?

Agree and if we are smart, we bid on Michalanney and Davey with 20. Only bid if you want the player or are certain the holding club will match the bid.

Weakening the Crows and Drug Rats makes sense PLUS it protects our pick 26.

Rumours of Blues likely to bid on Fletcher are interesting. SOS set that tone brilliantly with Freo and Henry and used it for buying more time.

Forget next year's draft gaiz, let's burn all those future picks and trade with Sydney to get Hewett, Allan, Mckenzie and Judd now :fire::fire::fire:

You don't make friends with salad, amirite Rohan!

The 45 minutes till this years draft seems like an eternity to the point where I'm not convinced next years draft actually exists.

Has anyone ever not matched inside the top 30 aside from Sydney with Dunkley?

I know some teams have been relatively happy to let marginal guys go, but it seems pretty rare that they won’t match on a highly rated prospect.
