What a dumb gullible smartarse she is ..she is the one being played for a fool believing that Pandemic rubbish

So for all the grandstanding by the government over dealing with those not following rules, the police just wave you on if you don't feel like telling them anything?

New restrictions in South Australia including border restrictions

Premier Steven Marshall has announced new restrictions for the state.

Funerals and weddings will now be capped at 100 people, while private home gatherings will be reduced to 50 people.

From Tuesday, no-one will be allowed to enter the state if they are travelling from Victoria, (even those from SA).

All visitors from Victoria, including South Australians, will be banned from entering the state from next week along with new restrictions on gatherings, the Premier has announced. The Transition Committee has recommended from next Tuesday the hard border with Victoria will be widened to include all travellers.

Until now, essential travellers and citizens have been able to cross the borders.

Authorities will cap the numbers of gatherings in home to 50 people while weddings will be restricted to up to 100 patrons, Steven Marshall also announced.

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens, who is also the state’s COIVID coordinator, signed off on the new restrictions on Friday.

Mr Marshall said authorities were worried about three clusters in NSW, including at the western Sydney Thai Rock restaurant, Wetherill Park, in Batemans Bay, on the central coast, and the Cross Roads hotel, Hume, in the NSW city’s west.He said the lifting of borders with NSW and ACT would not occur “anytime soon”. “NSW are doing a huge amount of work to get in top of these clusters,” he said. “We are concerned that there has been further seeding of these clusters and the infections.”

However, crowd caps will be lifted at seven SANFL games from this weekend.

SA’s chief public health officer Professor Nicola Spurrier said this had been done after SA Health approved their COVID Management Plans. She acknowledged it may not sound fair when other gatherings have just been restricted again but “football is outside so that’s lower risk”.

I'll keep nipping in to say this as it is worth repeating. Excess deaths is the best method of calculating the impact of Covid.

I’m still trying to understand why she doesn’t get fined on the spot and turned around.
What’s the point of having these border restrictions, lockdown etc if they aren’t going to enforce the rules?

Meanwhile the likelihood of me either getting home to see my lads or them coming here anytime soon diminishes as idiots like this mean the border restrictions will increase even more.

People who drive straight through the borders and get caught should be dealt with similar to drink drivers IMO.

Automatic 12 month suspension for everyone who holds a license in the vehicle.
Vehicle impounded for a month or automatic forfeit of vehicle.
and a date with the judge.

time to get tough on the bastards.

SA will still be letting in Essential Travellers despite what Marshall said at his presser. ie a truck driver is an essential traveller and they wont stop them - think the constitution S.92 will prevent a long term closure to them.

South Australia is again strengthening its border controls with Victoria, banning anyone, including South Australians, from entering the state from midnight on Tuesday. Currently, South Australians are allowed to return home but must quarantine for two weeks and undergo two mandatory coronavirus tests.

Some exemptions will still be allowed for the most essential travellers.
......
About 2,700 people crossed from Victoria into South Australia yesterday, including two men who were arrested in Tailem Bend after allegedly speeding through the Dukes Highway checkpoint.

The police spiked their tyres so that is possibly another $700-800 on top of the $1000 fine. The vehicles have been impounded so hopefully the campaigners have to pay to have them towed from the lockup.
