That is just it, it isn't OK. The numbers should be going down that is the whole idea of a lock down face masks etc. If the Vics don't reduce the numbers they, and the rest of Australia, risk being living with the current restrictions for a long time and if they lift the restrictions without reducing the numbers they risk becoming a small scale Florida.

As for that video sometimes a little information is dangerous. Bunnings obviously doing the PR bit and resisting calling the police while she was filming.

High density city and its not going to be easy and will take time. Wuhan took 3 months to bring their 2nd flare up under control. Texas/Florida went from relatively low figures to 10,000 a day plus at a rapid trajectory Vic is " just" sitting on the 500. I think they have it right and we will see it go down in a few weeks.

Plenty of campaigners still about bleating about their rights and causes. Obviously they don't have elderly at-risk relatives.

Time to do away with the fines (which, let's face it, very few of these people are ever going to pay) and make it a mandatory 14 days in supervised isolation. That might strengthen the message a bit. Just don't let the Victorian government contract the supervision...

What hope is there with nasty pieces of work like this...🤦‍♂️

These people are scum. Is this the same one who was telling police if they arrested her she would sue them both for 60k each for armed kidnapping? I doubt many in Australia would be too perturbed by a police shooting in these cases.

Stage 4 lockdown in Vic a certainty sad for them and the country.
Grand final to be in nsw / gabba or perth.
Someone may have a home ground advantage come grand final day.

Perth has no chance now. Given the way WCE dismantled Collingwood, Eddie will be on the blower to Gill

They've effectively said we're currently in stage 4 with the masks. Issue is transmission is occurring in essential services such as aged care which would be open under a stage 4. Same with abattoirs etc.

According to Vic health officials, data modelling points to today being the peak, it's expected that numbers will drop moving forward unless there is another outbreak that hasn't been accounted for. Fingers crossed.

There are no set rules for Stage 4 stage four. When New Zealand went to Stage 4 all-

  • Bars, restaurants and pubs were closed.
  • Liquor stores, except for designated areas, were closed.
  • Non essential shops such as furniture and non essential goods retailers are closed.
  • No sale of pre prepared food.
  • Schools were closed.
  • Child care centres were closed.
  • Weddings were banned.
  • The only people who can leave home are those engaged in work, shopping for essentials, local exercise, medical emergency etc.

Plus plenty of other restrictions.

What Daniel Andrews is calling stage 4 looks like a partial Stage 3 with masks. Deep down I think Andrews knows the genie has escaped from the bottle but there are no magic wishes.

Vic's Chief Health Officer reported today the reproduction number is sitting at one so the expectation is that numbers will start falling soon. Even though the current numbers are high a single infected person, on average, is spreading the disease to one person. If the reproduction number was 2 to 3, we'd be seeing exponential growth.
