It doesnt matter since he supports the measure, If you support a concept you need to support its pros and its cons. Its the extreme basics of decision making that.

Typical black and white thinking on your behalf.

He is just throwing the victim card out there

When have I ever thrown the victim card out? You're the one attacking me, not the other way around.

If he was impacted he would be open about it like everyone else is here

I said from the outset; more impacted than some, less than others.

My conspiracy..
I get the feeling this latest vic lockdown was all preplanned, I mean we were getting warnings two weeks in advance, not just with the Wallert case, but the lack of mask mandate being enforced on public transport, warnings of being complacent, 'Jerome Weiner' threatening us with restrictions etc.. Everything was looking like pre pandemic last weekend, pubs packed, people out, footy thriving, on the Sunday we had 'no cases' four days later we are in a state wide Lockdown! It's like the Andrews CCP Government wanted a bit of look at me time to remind us ‘We control you’ how dare you plebs have fun during a pandemic!

Just seems all to fishy.

You are spot on. They telegraphed the whole thing. Question is why was the lockdown pre-planned? The most obvious reason is to coerce people into getting the vax but there could be another reason.

We think its cringeworthy and embarassing. We also think its gross and disgusting. Its essentially also so bad its laughable. It is a myriad of emotions at the moment and not just the solitary impact

Ive not accused you of having 1 emotion for example. You have half a dozen responses that are all negative.

We have too to be fair. I mean, I wont lie. Im happy for the Victorian government to suffer for example due to there mistakes, but im also ashamed and angry the innocent people are at the end of that suffering too. I probably as Kurve said need to be more balanced in that opinion and realise that innocent people are at the end of the chain which he is correct on. As much as it angers me that Scomo needs to dig Merlino out of his own mess, he probably has too im afraid.

The fact you talk of a 'we' shows just how flawed your thinking is. It's not a sports team. For someone who thinks they're a free-thinker, you don't think very freely.

You can't comment without resorting to running completely off-topic because you don't have evidence to support the things you're saying.

So instead you try to shift the goalposts, claim i'm insensitive because I don't get drawn in to your goalpost shifting exercise, and will relentlessly support your 'team' no matter how poor their behaviour is.

You proudly presented your little vaccine data snippet and got completely shot down. End of.
At the risk of sounding like snake: you are obviously incapable of following the argument. Or responding in good faith.
You haven't made one - in fact - you never do
Imagine, that I think you an idiot but as a rule I would not say that - but when you persist with petulance in response to my good faith calls for content -
What option do you leave me?
So what do we do with a fool who has nothing to add? guess

No we in this thread. I have a very different opinion to Joey JoJo for example

Its not off topic at all. Its you refusing to accept the consequences of your actions and want to narrowly define it so you appear to be a hero

Explaining the flaws in your plan is not a shift of the goalposts. Its the consequences of your opinions and actions

No jobkeeper is 100% necessary

It'll sway the opinion polls fastest and the reaction will soon change. Scomo hang tough and give them nothing

Only reason Sco Mo is acting is those furious at Labor over this were starting to direct their anger (just as much) to the coalition for allowing this to happen. They could've cut this shit last year and had a federal plan but played politics knowing states would get blowback.

Labor don't care. While the morons who support locking down and this hysteria continue so will they. Plus there are some real loonies running the show.

We need a third party stating
Anti Lockdown
Bill of Rights
Re establish the rule of law and principles of a liberal democracy
Coordinate with the feds and ADF to have a secure defence policy so we are no longer bound by the outside world. (Because clearly this shit is the same playbook all over the world).

No we in this thread

Really? Since you just said;

We also think

Sounds to me like you think it's a team sport. Where you must back your teammates no matter what they say.

You shift the goalposts all the time. You'll bring up all manner of completely unrelated topics, then try to claim i'm selfish for not getting drawn in to discussing them because you can't support your views with any form of logic.

You do realise I'm not Scott Morrison, Daniel Andrews, Mark McGowan or James Merlino right? You talk about consequences as though I'm the one running the show.

The weight of public opinion does run the show unfortunately. Its why you are in lockdown. Do you think the lockdown would be continuing if Jamers Merlino had a 20% approval rating today?

The Liberal Democrats are putting forward a bill in the upper house in Victoria that covers some of this. They are asking people who support the bill to contact the crossbenchers in the Upper house to let them know they are not happy with what has been going on.

The gist of it is this:

"The Andrews Government response during the pandemic lockdowns has lacked proportionality and common sense, and restricted human rights of Victorians . Tim Quilty is putting forward a bill that will curb excesses of government power by returning democratic decision-making to the management of states of emergency.

The Emergency Powers Safeguards Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 intends to promote democratic decision-making during an emergency without compromising the ability of the state to response quickly to an immediate risk.

The bill clarifies that the purpose of emergency powers is not to grant extraordinary power to the state, but to allow an immediate response where it would take too long to consult the parliament. The bill requires the government to seek approval from the parliament before declaring a state of emergency or issuing a health order – except in situations where it’s not possible to do so.

The bill requires parliamentary approval for all extensions to a state of emergency and clarifies that the purpose of an extension is to allow the government more time to draft legislation that would deal with ongoing circumstances."

It has three basic tenets:

1. Emergencies are emergent – not ongoing.
2. We don’t suspend democracy during a crisis – we deal with crises democratically.
3. Politicians are not above the law. Abuse of power is a serious offence that ought to carry a legal consequence.

I urge anyone who feels strongly about this to contact the crossbenchers and let them know.

That would require a lot of people to suddenly believe we should let it rip.

So yet again. Flawed, black and white thinking.

Black and white thinking . The alternative is only the extreme end result

You are good at acting out the things you accuse others of but thats the overall issue you have. A lack of self awareness

Our crossbenchers are as weak as piss thou. Sold us out twice with these SOE.

You are spot on. They telegraphed the whole thing. Question is why was the lockdown pre-planned? The most obvious reason is to coerce people into getting the vax but there could be another reason.

All the reason to be sceptical. WTF is in these vaccines? Why the desperation/propaganda?
If this was a cure all people would be charging the doors. Why a PR campaign? (And the rebuttal has to be a lot better than people are scared of a needle)

Because this whole thing has been so heavily politicised and filled with misinformation that your average person has no idea what to think anymore.

Yep, totally agree, they sold us out. But I think we have to keep the pressure up. They do start to get worried if they are being bombarded with people who are unhappy with their decisions.

If not this, any other suggestions?

burge13 and Drummond OMG then how does the ball get back onto the ground hahahahahahaha

Professor Spurrier said health authorities would work with Adelaide Oval on seating.
"We're looking at the seating at the moment and of course, we're looking at the ball," she said.
"I have noticed occasionally it does get kicked into the crowd. We are working through the details of what that will mean, if you are at Adelaide Oval and the ball comes towards you.
"My advice to you is to duck and just do not touch that ball."

Because its only the vaccine thats been politicised? Its the entire thing from start to finish I hope you understand

Nothings been more politicised then the UK stance on the virus. Read up on it fully. Hundreds of articles out there about it.

A part of every functioning democracy is having access to all sorts of information and people can then self determine and make up their own minds. Free speech is a cornerstone.

I agree in part it has been filled with misinformation a lot of it coming from mainstream media.

It is politicised no doubt about that. So it's no longer about public health. It's a shit show now and any rules are just about proving a point and make not the slightest sense. There are 20 inconsistencies with this. So its outrageous and should not be tolerated.

Vaccinations sure temporary thats the disguise but I don’t think that’s the end game here or ever has been.
This lockdown seem more politically motivated this time, the amount of finger pointing to the feds for starters is a big indication the Andrews government are after something, maybe it’s pay back for the belt and road deal being canned! But both feds and state are playing political games and we a being cought in the middle of the struggle. ****ing sucks!

People support this and follow their advice too. It's worrying how ****ing dumb the average person is that this isn't laughed out of the room

Look no sense starting a riot. Live your life, know your rights and if you are accosted by the Police (especially those with pink tabs?????) inform them you will be taking the matter to court.

Any "authorised person" whatever that means can ask for your name and address and you can ask for their name, rank and serial number. If you are in a public place (in Australia at least) there is no right to privacy so you have every right to film. (Keep your mobile handy). Keep calm, rational and explain your rights.

Authoritarian bullies will either slink off or attack. If they attack defend yourself proportionally but make sure you have footage.

It's why this country is going to struggle to rejoin the world, the most frightened country in the world.
