On booking ahead, you're told you need to bring your license with you. That would be the time that if your license indicates you live in Melbourne, you decide to stay home. That's different to someone walking in to a coffee shop off the street.

Lockdowns were an unknown concept before 2020[/B] (afaik), would have been unthinkable. Since covid the so-called experts, and we, have started to join the dots between disease and transmission and what can be done about it. People were in fact pretty slack about not protecting themselves and others, going to work and everywhere when sick. It's pretty extreme though. I would hope education will be the answer in the future, not just automatic lockdowns.
Wrong - they were known as a concept but previous pandemic management plans considered then dismissed them. Ineffective because you can't lock everyone down and the disruption to everyday lives causes more problems than it solves.

Its 100% typical of all pro lockdown enthusiasts. Every time they are proven wrong, which is alot, they cry about being misconstrued

Its a case of when you stand for nothing, its hard to have a point

When the whole structure of your argument has more holes than swiss cheese it isn't even difficult to pick apart.
Sloganeering and mantras need back up if you want to make a coherent case.

Any argument is counteracted by what about isms of Ifs..........

The best whataboutism is

- We need to lockdown. I know its hard but it impacts me negatively too and its just something we have to do
- How does it impact you
- I cant answer that. Im a essential worker and im too busy at my job

Some of us like to see the science so we can understand it better. If it's over your head, you simply prefer not to know about it or are unwilling to accept new information that might challenge your view, that's your choice.
People wanting to be forensic experts from their lounge wondering how it passed through a hallway door are sad, they're not 'learning the science'

The 'science' has been wrong almost every step of the way

Lastly, remember when the science was to be questioned, that was the point of it. Why can no one question this science in the face of logic? Ah, because it has nothing to do with science and everything to do with trying to prove you're right (even when wrong). That isn't science, that's a cult

The same group of people who thought a pangaolin and a bat had sex to make a virus is accusing you of making things up

Well given I was the one who said he made it up, I assume you mean me.

Please quote the post where I said "a pangaolin and a bat had sex to make a virus".

As usual, I'll wait for you to produce no evidence then come up with some irrelevant comments before accusing me of being a selfish China lover.

Nah thats Xi Spin that one

Merlino - "It's insulting for anyone to suggest that any state or territory would choose to go into lockdown. We don't choose to go into lockdown, there is no choice".
He has someone higher than him pulling the strings I don't doubt

It proved to be 30x less dangerous than they forecast
Significantly fewer people caught it than forecast
It spread off pizza boxes
"This variant is way more contagious" said 30x, none of which true
It wasn't made in a lab... oh hold on maybe it was
You can sit but not stand. It might spread
You have to wear masks around AO grounds but not at your seat despite 15 mins close contact being the main spreader, not passing by
Arbitrary limitation numbers on gatherings, none of which has anything to do with science

It'd be quicker for you to tell me what they got right tbh. It isn't very much

So just back from the shops and i must say that the QR code check in was a breeze, now my phone doesn't do apps so i needed to write down my details on a pad, i know it will be for the greater good if i get a call telling me to go into isolation for 14 days but if it helps us never having to lockdown again then i am prepared to make that sacrifice.

The science says footballs handled by Collingwood players will likely carry covid. It stands to reason...
