Scummo’s press conference has again shown that he certainly doesn’t intend to hold the hose when it comes to a national response to testing strategies. Lectures on Federal responsibilities don’t help.

And in WA:

McGowan says there are 704 new close contacts in the state.
“50are still to be tested. Of these, 44were at the mess hall event. The number has increased as a result o fa reconciliation of the data available. WA Police advised that of the 44 contacts from the mess hall, 16 people are unlikely to be contacted due to false or misleading information they provided through the contact register or ticket sales.
“WA Police and WA health continued to do everything possible to track the remaining people down.

I wonder if some of the people on this site are pleased with the actions of the 16 arse holes? It must be great supporting those who have zero concerns about potentially infecting others.
what would you like him to do when no matter what is decided at National Cabinet the states come straight out and do their own thing as they have done for the past 2 years? The dumbest thing he did was invite the premiers into this in the first place, he should have said this is what we are doing, you deviate form that then their will be consequences...The confusion has come from 10 different premiers or chief ministers running from 10 different health officers who have different views based on their own popularity.. Its even harder when you cant get a constant message from one state as shown by the 4 different changes in QLD in the past two weeks...Travellers must have a covid test at day 5 after arrival, Day 5 tests are no longer required, A negative PCR test is required before travel, you no longer need a pcr test.

If the premiers weren't invited in then a hell of a lot more people would have died the last couple of years.

Victoria's first outbreak was from going against the national hotel quarantine guidelines . I think Victoria had 800+ deaths in the first wave compared to 150 for the rest of the country combined at that stage .

Yep, and if scummo and co were in charge the deaths would be a hell of a lot more than 800, which is what I said.

Wasn’t the rumour that he was in Aspen this year?
Didn't hear that one myself but I wouldn't be surprised. Even if it's not explicitly his role to directly handle bushfires/pandemics with his own 2 hands he should, as a career politician, understand how bad it makes him look not being a constant presence during such times. Especially when so many Aussies can't even get home.

Australia can use the example of Biden/Harris as a good waring what will happen if each way Albo and Bandt got anywhere near government. Poor old Joe has gotten so sick of having his vaccine mandates being thrown out of court he has decided to wash his hands of everything and throw it back to the Governors to try and work it out...

Denmark is a few weeks ahead of Oz in the omicron outbreak. Deaths are on the rise; equivalent to ~100/day in Australia. Their vaccination rates are better than Oz’s; 3rd dose is 42% vs 8%. Creating the impression that it is ok for omicron to spread is a public health threat.

No it doesn’t

That organisation is nothing other than a propaganda organisation. For example,

They are a bunch of hard-core right-wing zealots.

You have it backwards - the GBD authors went through AIER because the usual media channels they would've used didn't want to hear any policy counter to the mainstream narrative.

Look into the backgrounds of the authors, and if you still think their politics are in any way hard-core right wing then I can't help you. They didn't receive anything from AIER (or the Koch brothers, which was another smear against them).

So you're saying Biden is doing exactly what Morrison is doing by shifting responsibility to the states and the public (personal responsibility).
