Don't think I'll post again till the New Year, unless there's a drastic change of events.

I'm one of the worst posters to get along with here, triggered, so I need to work on that. I genuinely enjoy this board and it has opened my eyes to things.

A good start would be to pay my membership and change my bloody name!!! Can't delete my posting history though.

Just wanted to wish everyone a great New Years, be safe, be kind, be a good human being. May you all enjoy the time with family and friends.

Covid is covid, can't control it, so try not to worry about it (too much).

See you all on the otherside.

Cheers
Have a good New Year mate

Seems about right . We have to crawl out from under the bed where we have been hiding and learn to live with covid before making policy changes.

Maybe let's learn from the mistakes of others . Use the Victorian covid pathway as what not to do .

Yeah....but no comment on the NSW pathway?
Nsw has done way better than Victoria considering NSW did a lot more of the international arrivals and quarantine the past 2 years .

Victoria also is the most locked down place in this whole pandemic around the world , they really put their people through the ringer .

Not even a contest Victoria has been the worst state and ****ed up leading to lockdowns and deaths on multiple occasions

Even when NSW ****ed up ( and yes they did a few times ) they still tried to strike a balance between isolation and treating the citizens with respect. There is probably isolated incidents but no where near as bad as the heavy handed policing of Victoria.

Victoria bad, NSW good.

No idea where you’d pick up that sort of narrative.
Letting your political bias cloud your reason ?
The numbers speak for themselves .

NSW has a much better record during this pandemic. They also had a much bigger work load in international arrivals and quarantine .

Maybe you should take a leaf out of priddis is done's book as you are one of the worst posters on this site and probably need some self reflection time

Back to the real world, 1 new case.....surprise surprise it's an unvaccinated backpacker who's been out in the community while infectious.

Is “shared a bathroom” code for something?

Not sure if Collingwood has described their performance as "good" - just missing out the Spoon in 2021
They were 6 points better than the North; sacked their presidents twice (Feburary then, December); sacked the head coach in the middle of the season.

No matter who the poster is, there is nothing wrong with genuinely wishing the best for others and their family and friends. Nothing. I might not agree with some of those who take a different view on COVID and COVID measures but only utter campaigners want them to get sick.

Happy New Year to you and everyone else. Stay safe.

The Victorian numbers are largely attributable to their second wave in 2020 when there were no vaccinations available. Once you take that out of the equation, the numbers are comparable.

It's also disingenuous to use the well meaning nature of PID's post as a weapon against others, but that's just me.

Just a quick one, speaking to someone at work re isolation if confirmed you have covid (and the details are sketchy).

When this broke out last year....

Guy came back to WA from Asia and had to self isolate at home for 2 weeks. Had a family with kids.

Someone assessed his home as being unfit to self isolate from the family. Therefore family had to move into a caravan.

So my questions are:

1. Is that right, someone assesses your house as to whether you can isolate from the family?

2. And if your house is unfit and you have nowhere to send the family to (for free) who wears the cost of the accomodation / hotel?

It does sound about right, maybe something to do with not having 2 bathrooms and a separate living area?

I've never heard that before. I'm not certain.

Don't know.

Could see it as big problem if an isolated person at home has to send their family away, at their own personal cost.
Self-quarantine

What is a suitable premises for self-quarantine?
A suitable premises is a location where you and those travelling with you can live for up to 14 days without putting others at risk.
This means:
  • the person quarantining there has access to their own bedroom, and preferably their own bathroom, without the need to share them with any other person who is not also quarantining there
  • if the person is required to present for testing, they are close enough to a place where testing can occur in accordance with a direction to enable the person to comply with that direction
  • food and medication can be delivered as required without the need to come into contact with the person quarantining there.
You may not be granted entry to the state if you do not have a suitable self-quarantine address available

So new national cabinet rules on close contacts. The only possible close contacts are those bastards you live with for at least 4 hrs a day.
Being on a bus or plane for multiple hrs, getting on the piss at pubs n clubs or generally doing anything where you are out and about spending money couldn't possibly constitute a close contact.
Less tests = less cases = winning.

I remember when Trump suggested this he was laughed at by the world, yet here we are with basically the same policy dressed up with a bit more sophisticated gaslighting.

The 2nd wave where the Victorian government failed on multiple levels and created a 4 month lock down and 800 deaths .

Yeah let's just leave that out 🤦

Victoria have also had more deaths 700 since that 2nd wave ended than NSW has had the entire pandemic .

The numbers don't lie

Use a post as a weapon ?

Unfortunately the mods seem to have a blind spot to MgSz for some reason.....

Always at the forefront of negative posting and shit stirring/pile ons not just on this thread . Loves to stir the pot and cause division .

Different rules for different posters . Knows how to skirt the line of what's acceptable. Friends in high places . These phrases come to mind .

Seems odd that nothing about work was mentioned, i.e at work for 8 hours.

Or say going to a jam packed rave for 4 hours.

This is a good thing but still seems strange

Or maybe you just don't like the fact that he challenges your posts all the time

Not sure it's good, it's going to basically lead to unchecked spread of the virus.
See what happens, might have to look into ordering some rapid tests for when it inevitably gets out of control over here.
