Review over February. Guess that means at least late into March/April.

He's lucky there is a heatwave in Perth still over the weekend otherwise I think there would be some rather large protests.

Will people now put off having the 3rd dose as the effects will be waning when we finally open up.

People I know would have locked down Feb 5 . Going to work then going home not going out to restaurants ordering shopping online . Hundreds of thousands will not go out . The so called workers that come in from the world will have no one to serve . The borders open will ruin the W A economy

Some good questions being asked - what happens when new variant comes in?

Will we need a 4th shot to open?

You haven’t done anything for hospitals?

That’s an interesting question. He can’t even provide a definitive “open” date.
I had my second dose in November and as it stands can’t get my third since mid March. If we are still no closer to opening then, should I just not bother? 🤷‍♂️

I'll be ready for my fourth by then, boost me to the moon

Absolutely shattered. Family I haven't seen in so long, but won't come under compassionate reasoning. The amount of people taking joy in others suffering right now is absurd.

Yup my Mum will be heartbroken. Was planning on coming in with my partner before moving to QLD. Will have to fly into QLD now.

Shattered.

Thought is was a bit rich him talking about employment and the economy. A lot of businesses are suffering because they cant get workers since internationals have been shut out.
No place anywhere is fully manned out there at the moment. It’s a ****ing shitshow out here - in employment terms

I can’t blame people honestly… The usual sort would be revelling as always. But many “sensible” people are very disturbed by this all. I wrongly assumed we had a definitive plan of action 🤷‍♂️

New studies out of Israel showing 4th booster does basically nothing, so hopefully we don't go down that path.

The business situation in the eastern states is far worse. For economic reasons (if you want to go that way), pushing back is the logical step.

You still can, one of the exemptions is for direct family links with WA

This is what got me curious - is this only for returning WA residents? Or can it be those who have direct family in WA even if they are not normally resident?

Not my partner. Will need to go through full visa exemption route, where as previously we had confirmed that we can apply once in country having arrived on tourist visa.

Can't delay coming to Aus for work reasons. Real shit sandwich.

From the wording there is a specific line for returning WA residents and then a separate one for direct family links...so I would think it's for non-residents

This is the issue. He has good points in that the world has changed and we aren’t as prepared as we thought we were.. but of course it’s changed, it’s been changing for the past 2 years and will continue to change for the foreseeable future. We can’t keep being reactive to what’s happening because you’re always behind the curve and we’ll be in an endless loop until it inevitably gets in anyway.

The only way it’s going away is if a large chunk of us get it (hopefully in a controlled manner and not 100s of thousands at a time). From here a number needs to be picked on 3rd dose percentage and we open up as soon as it hits that mark otherwise we’ll be in the same spot for years to come
