Omicron shows up by day 5, mate. So if he's worried, RAT on day 5 for his own sake.
Ahh does it?

So what of us? Do we need to stay isolated?

Ahh here’s a 5 day report (Jan 21)

Do we need to stay isolated?
Have WA Health contacted you to notify you as a close contact? If so, yes you need to isolate for 14 days.

Have WA Health contacted you to notify you as a casual contact? If so, yes you need to get tested and isolate until a negative result is returned.

Otherwise no, but if you think you may have it, get tested. If you get a PCR done you'll need to isolate until the result (24 - 72 hours).

You can do whatever WA Health have told you to. I'm just relaying what I've been told by my brother who works at a hospital in Melbourne re: the 5 days.

That's why the 14 day iso is crap for omicron. If you haven't got it by day 7 you haven't got it at all.

Have we had any word on when that's changing here?

No contact has been made with us at all.

We withdrew into our home until his result came back

I assume his girlfriend will be contacted if he becomes positive on 5th day

Thats why WA govt will reduce the quarantine period to 7 days when we reach some magical number of communitah cases.
