Hi All,

After the success of Purple's draft thread, and a bit of discussion regarding whether games may be simmed or selecting players on stats rather then reputation, I bring to you that very idea. Welcome to CricSim Draft Manager.

This is intended to be run over several seasons, resulting in ongoing drafts and seasons played. But the first draft is always the biggest, and the formation of the initial rules is paramount. Please have a read of the below rules, they include what makes a player eligible for the draft, and the composition requirements of your squads and XIs. including a trade system and a loan system

I do encourage a discussion over the rules, so your ideas that can be included, and clarification over any of the wording to save confusion later. Any disputed rules once we have started will go in my favour

I envisage about a 10 game season, with finals. Followed by retentions and then another draft. Rules for the following stages of the season cycle would be written as we go

THE RULES

1      Eligibility
       Each person can only hold one team at a time. Holding multiple teams will not be allowed

2      League Format
       This league will feature players under the First Class format

3      Player Eligibility
       For a player to be eligible for the draft, they must fill the below criteria:
(a)    Minimum 10 First Class games
(b)    Either officially retired from First Class domestic cricket or not played First Class
       cricket domestic cricket since 31 DEC 2022
(c)    For Associate nations, must not have played a First Class game since 31 DEC 2022
(d)    Player must be alive at the time of the draft. If they die during a season, they become
       ineligible for the following season
(e)    A Capped player is someone who has played a minimum of 5 Test Matches
(e)    Hold a cricinfo.com page
3.1    Player averages and attributes are defined as per their cricinfo.com page
3.2    If a player does not have a batting style listed, they will be allocated "Right Hand Bat";
       and if a player does not have a bowling style listed, they will be allocated "Right Arm
       Medium"
3.3    A Keeper is defined as a someone that has "Wicketkeeper" or "Occasional Wicketkeeper"
       listed as either their Fielding Position or Playing Role
3.4    A non-bowling player must have bowled a minimum of 300 balls or 50 overs to hold a bowling
       average

4      Squad Composition
4.1    Each squad must have between 15 and 18 players
4.2    There is to be a maximum of 4 players from the one country per squad

5      Team XI Composition
5.1    Each XI must feature a designated keeper, to be listed when naming the XI. Any other keeper
       can be listed in the XI, and not listed as the keeper for the XI
5.2    There is to a maximum of 8 capped players per XI
5.3    There is to be a minimum of 1 player from an Associate nation in your XI

6      Draft
6.1    For the first season, the draft order will be a randomly sorted snake draft
6.2    Each person has 6 hours between 6am and 12am VicBias time to make their pick, if they miss
       their turn then can come back an make their selection
6.3    Once you pass on a pick, you pass on the rest of the draft. This can only be utilized after
       Round 15 of the draft
6.4    Please tag the next person in the draft after you have made your selection
6.5    Details for the Season 2 draft will be discussed at a later date

7      Trades
7.1    A trade can occur between teams for players or draft picks or any combination of both. This
       also includes future draft picks
7.2    Each trade needs to be confirmed by both parties within the draft thread or the squad
       submission thread to be official
7.3    A trade can only occur at any time during the year

8      Loans
8.1    Teams can loan out players to other teams within the season for a limited number of rounds
       or for the rest of the season
8.2    Loans can be in exchange for other players or for draft picks in future seasons

9      Season
       Rules to be written during the draft, and once number of interest people is known
