hey i also worked out who scribe is, your actually a pretty good footballer guessing you were alright in your younger days. those distractions were actually very off-putting too when you were on the mark, didnt expect someone i didnt know to call out my name haha

Big win by the OM's boys especially in the reserves! reds didnt look like a top side that day and even the umpiring couldnt help them get close... and they dont mind throwing elbows around when everything isnt going there way alot different to the side we played earlier in the year....

Normally i'm a C section man myself, but thought i'd wonder down to my local (oval that is) to check out the potential for next year..

Let me start off by saying that AWOL is lying through is missing gap teeth.. Countless times I saw reds bitchin with one another.. In the mentone forward pocket, one red had to almost smoother another in "shut-up the germans are coming" style to shut him up.. Undesciplined rubbish, and reading what scribe has to say around here, i was very supprised.. That man talks the talk, but clearly his side cant even crawl the walk..
The goal after the siren clearly didnt count, and would have been dissallowed quicker if the umpire didnt have 18 red nuts in his face!

Stuck around for the real stuff after that match. And let me just use this spcae to send a quick cheerio to Old Geelong. Just remember, you may be the Big dog in the small yard right now, but just wait till your the chiwawa in our big doggie park next year boys...

Finally, if no.23 from Old Geelong doesnt get rubbed out for that mongrel hit on the blonde kid from mentone, then he can thank the fact it was 100m off the ball and completely unexpected..
Just remember no.23, we are watching... see you next year champ.

????????

Oh dear.

Perhaps Natanui has been dreaming he's a C section man all season, but sadly the reality is far from the case.

Very poor form.

I've already voiced my opinion on the contributions of OM's to this forum. Pity talking yourself up and complaining about other teams doesn't win you finals.

Nobs seniors winning the toss and electing to kick into the strong breeze must go down in the annals as one of the most eyebrow-raising decisions made in recent times.

They did well in the first quarter and were unlucky with two posters to trail 0.5 to 4.5. Could have been a lot worse. They were in with a real chance until Geelong again kicked with the wind in the third quarter and powered away with eight goals. A late resurgence got seven goals back in the last but the Oggers kicked another three and were never seriously threatened.

Well done to both teams, it was a very good game.

Well said! Put it this way, the oggs coaching bench were very happy with the decision. It was one of many baffling decision for the day from the nobs supercoach.

What about leaving Vasey to run riot whilst he racked up 43 possessions? Anyy danger on manning up on him Terry??

What about putting Barker on goldy who ripped him apart in the and turned the game in the third quarter?

What about starting their no 1 ruckman on the bench in the last quarter when they had to win the game?

They were 10/0 and went out in straight sets after their coach was in the paper pumping up with his tyres mid season.

Have to say after appointing himself coach, it hasn't been great success.

Oggs to win easily next week.

As a neutral spectator I thought the game was a good contest with a few telling moments.
  1. First quarter - nobs missing 5 shots on goal really hurt.
  2. Start of third quarter, nobs piling on the pressure and hitting the front kicking with into a huge breeze and knowing they had the wind in the last term
  3. Second half of the third term - ogs winning centre clearances and kicking accurately - big nobs ruckman was beaten by smaller ogs ruckman
  4. Having used heaps of petrol tickets inthe third - nobs let in three goals to the ogs in the third - the gap was too big.
  5. Number 40 killed in for ogs and i was amazed at how much space he had
Great game though and the wind made it so unpredictable - you always thought that nobs would come int he last and they did - but ogs were too good and took their chances.

In the end the better team won - and i guess the form guide was about right - ogs had winning form and nobs didnt.

Next week to be close......but you would think that BT would start favourites with their record over ogs recently as well as their stars ready to fire. But ogs are in good form and would think they are a show.

Market: BT $1.50 OG $2.40

i think you are being a little harsh on the nobs footy club...
firstly, taking a team from 2 wins last year to a prelim final would prob not be considered a failure in anyone's terms, however im sure they are pretty shattered about not making the granny after such a good start.
secondly, im also not sure that he appointed himself coach, they tell me it was a group decision by the committee, and considering he was the club's last premiership coach he had a pretty good resume.

should be 2 good games next weekend.

I hope I haven't been too hard on the club.

Well, you have left out a very important point. The club went to D grade and hence winning is easier( refer Reds who also had significantly more wins). Relegated clubs are expected to do a lot better in the lower grade.

The premiership you refer to was some 26 years ago from memorsy o it is fair to say that things may have changed a tad since then.

Finally, he was president of the committee that all agreed to appoint him without any process or advertisement.

Any side 10/0 who don't gain promotion have to be shattered.

So, onto next week...

Any truth to the rumour that the best player in D1 had his jaw broken in a nightclub nine days ago?

Ugly?

Spoke to Dean yesterday and he seemed fine. At 37 years of age, he's a bit long in the tooth to be out clubbing. Deano will line up on Saturday for sure:thumbsu:

And in other news, a former BT club captain is said to have recovered from a mysterious groin strain. Turns out it was just a smokers cough and he will be ready to fire this week.

Dermott Brereton would argue otherwise. I

f Deano is right to go, how about Paul Florence? Perhaps he's the fella referred to in webbo_83's earlier post?

I'm tipping an OGGs whitewash on Saturday. I fear the B-T back 6 will struggle to contain a rampant Goldsworthy and Branigan. Up the other end, the OGGs defence has enough experience and height to keep Volgis and Matthews in check.

OGGs by 4 goals in both games.

Deano said he was the best player in the grade!!!

Yes, I've hard that Florance is having his jaw wired early this week... Would be a huge blow for B-T if true.

Goldsworthy and Young are the men to stop; Brannigan spent alot of Saturday warming the bench amidst rumours that his troublesome feet have thwarted another finals campaign.

Been away for a few weeks - sorry for the late question Frase but what happened to your lads in the magoos? When I left you were taking all before you and your old pal Red Roy was talking of you as a Premiership coach.

We lost 5 of our last 8 games for the season, including the 1st semi final.

Pressure right on Bulleen this weekend. The OGGers have got nothing to lose. Sneaking up from 4th to a grand final, they've achieved as much as was expected of them this year. Will the Bullants slip the noose or be hung out to dry as the big chokers some anticipate they will be. Week off should do them wonders, but will it be worth it?

OGGers for the daily double on Saturday. They're as sure a bet as Weekend Hussler was of being named Australian Horse of the Year last night.

Not quite sure how BT would have anything more to lose than the OGG's, and can't exactly have choked to be going through to C grade.

But we can say that OGG's will be the underdog if you need it so badly :D.
