thought id help to get this thread rolling a bit. from the D4 2008 thread:
i see on the vafa website "chadstone" football club are seeking a senior coach so i am guessing the name change all went through?
so here is the answer from the vafa website:

Syndal Tally Ho AFC will now be known as Chadstone AFC after members endorsed the name change at the club's Annual General Meeting held recently.

The club will retain its nickname, 'The Synners' and the club jumper, shorts and socks will also remain the same as will the club song. The club will continue to play and train at Jordan Reserve, Burton Street Chadstone. All history, records and awards will be retained. The Chadstone Football Club will participate in the Victorian Amateur Football Association D4 league in 2009.

The special resolution was endorsed with an overwhelming majority at the recent Annual General Meeting held at Jordan Reserve. Club President, Janine Bingham praised the decision was a positive step forward for the club, “It will ensure greater recognition with our local community. It will increase our player base, patronage, community awareness and sponsorship opportunities while maintaining the proud history, traditions and legacy of the Syndal Tally-Ho Football Club.

A special resolution for the club to form a Football for the Intellectually Disabled (FIDA) team was also unanimously supported at the meeting. An existing FIDA team has played and trained at Jordan Reserve for the past six months and its members have been actively assisting the D4 team off the field.

Chadstone AFC also welcomes Vatpak as a new sponsor of the club.

any other news on some clubs maybe joining the vafa? it looks like no one will going to the northern league or anyone leaving, so could it just be as simple as a d3 & d4? or will some southern clubs move across?

I agree. I know Old Assumption have definitely applied, but that may include a clubbies start. SFL are yet to confirm their structure yet. The rumour is that if a couple of clubs fold they will go to two divisions and a couple of clubs(who have applied previously) will enter VAFA and MNPFL or whatever it is called. Other than that who knows??

Cantebury from Div 3 Southern have moved to Eastern Div 4.

Any news of coaching appointments amongst the various D4 clubs? Who is confirmed to keep going on next year? Who's looking and have they found anyone yet?

Richmond has a new one as old one stepping down due to work
Box Hill North has a new one - don't know about old coach (reasons, etc)
Syndal - pretty sure they are seeking a new one

Eley Park / Mt Lilydale advertised - don't know if the current coaches are continuing

Albert Park, Bulleen and North Brunswick coaches remaining

Don't know about Sth Mornington, La Trobe or Swinburne

Mt Lilydale's 2008 coach will not coach due to family reasons.
He will be replaced by the reserves coach due to popular demand from the players.

Chadstone (Syndal Tally Ho) must be looking for a new coach as I am led to believe the 2008 coach applied for the Mt Lilydale job.

Guys, can confirm that Chadstone have informed me that the committee believe a 'fresh face' would be beneficial for the club moving forward and was not considered for the 2009 senior position. I wish the club all the best in its future endeavours.

Manny - everything you've ever done on this board has indicated to me, and many others, that you have some class. I don't know you personally, but I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do. Those at the Cobras know that good coaches make teams better, but there's only such much that a coach can do when he just doesn't have the cattle...

If you're in the area watching a game of local footy, feel free to drop in for a beer & a yak!

Great to see Rabs back in VAFA circles with Richmond Centrals announcing him as their senior coach for 2009. A very smart move by Waz and his committee, good luck next year big fella!

Even better to se you back on and posting again!

Hopefully back to the D1 thread soon.

The Bulleen Cobras officially changed it name to Manningham Cobras AFC last night at the clubs AGM.
Personally - it is a great move by the club:thumbsu: to make us more independant in the local community - but i might be a bit biased.:D
Looking forward to seeing everyone down at Koonung next year.

Interesting as most clubs in Syndal / Chadstone's position will look outside the club for coaches to try & get an injection of new players.

I dont know too much about the process undertaken but i think they (Chadstone) probably did. Anyway this is a fairly topical and sensitive subject matter and out of respect for Manny and the club i wont comment on it at least until i know anything for certain. I will say this, Manny will be sorely missed, i haven't played for many better coaches, or for that matter, many better blokes.

Last time I played against Chadstone (Syndal) the reserves runner was sent to deliver a message from the reserves coach to their forward with the instructions of "make sure he leaves the ground on a stretcher" when reffering to one of our players.

I hope these kind of stupid comments and actions are not going to be a common game plan for the new senior coach for next year:confused:
