I don't know how Hale is getting away without scrutiny. The game is passed him, his output this year apart from the nab cup has been deplorable. He is below average as a ruckman and once the ball hits the ground it is painful to watch him attempt to get up off the ground. Should definitely be replaced by gunston. McCauley in hale out. Discuss

The way I read it, for the next few weeks the experienced players will be relied upon to get the job done. If we get the wins on the board, I hope the likes of McCauley, Cheney, Hill get a good go at it. The midfield might also have a mini overhaul.
hale got his head whacked again in the swans match and i think that was what made Rough have to ruck again let alone do back as well due to Gibbo gone that took our goal kicker away from the forward line cause he had kicked 5 at that stage

was he ? i thought he did it early [first half forgot now when ] and if anything did rough ruck the rest of the game ? or did he rotate with broc ? i did not watch the centre bounces much to be honest was at the game watched other things and took photos which i usually do of the bounces but some reason did not

Hale gets his head "whacked" every week and it's costing us games. Should never be an automatic selection
All I know is I'm sick of "robbing Peter to pay Paul". Hale as far as I'm aware was recruited to fill a hole in the ruck department. Either play him there with and rest him in the forward line for short stints, or don't play him at all! Get Roughy forward!
Rough, Buddy Gunstan in the forward line, worked in the grand final DUH with Williams, got to use Gunstan thats what we got him for. Give Hale one more chance.

On current form I reckon Hale should be spending all his time in the ruck and resting on the bench. The less time Roughead spends rucking the more often he's able to present as a forward target.
Of course if Hale's being killed then the switch can be made, Roughead to ruck & Hale to FF.
I would love to see Hale capture some form in the forwardline, it'd really take the focus off Buddy and make us so much more dangerous.
After saying that the current gameplan & midfield delivery might not be doing him any favors.

I agree. Not sure we can afford to have Gunston & Hale in the same team though.
Gunston, Hale & Macauley/Bailey is out of the question. (now that Roughead is back in the team)
Who should be an automatic selection then if it's not Hale? And don't forget we don't have many available and the only real half decent one we have is still 3 months away....

I was over Hale when I saw him miss easy set shots at goal in the first qtr against Geelong and Collingwood in the finals last year.
So you want to replace Hale with Gunston AND MaCaulay. Wouldn't that be nice, 2 for 1?
You realise you just lost your own argument. That is why Hale is valuable. That is why he was recruited. Becaue he can fill two roles.
His form is not great atm but last year he earned his spot and his NAB series was excellent this year.
I know we are all angry after last weeks insipid loss but let's not start dropping every player, ok? Gunston cannot play ruck so he cannot replace Hale. MaCaulay can play ruck but has no form in kicking multiple goals so he won't be a great forward. So let's see if Hale can come good.

Well said Books , i nearly die every time going where i should not into the hawks fb page and seeing them wanting to drop the whole team and replace with all young ones , as i say then don't expect to get anywhere near the top cause we will win the spoon if we do that , you need some experience , you only need to look at GWS how GC was when they started and Melb and tigers but they are slowly getting there to see what it is like to have all young and no experience GC had experience but had to teach the young ones at the same time
