I am 4 beers into Friday night. Going to be a quick night looking at the scores so far at this; straight sets half of the draw. So many one-sided matches today, including a double bagel... This means we are now back to the stupidly long 3am finishes half. LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!
Weather - 14-27C. Hottish but bearable. Look out for midweek next week, when it just becomes hot...

Carlos is the day specialist. Come on, give him a night match, which isn't against a Gasquet. He is playing someone younger than him, which is very rare. I am not sure about Carlos yet, but still, should have too much for the young man from China. Look, this side of the mens draw does lack big names. It has to be one of Grigor, Carlos, Zverev or Medvedev to come through to the final. I have no faith in anyone else. And even then, I only really trust Carlos or Medvedev. The other 2 have a record of failing late. But come on Grigor!!!!!!!!! I don't really believe but I want to.
Women-wise...a China double-header on RLA. a weird one that for that to be played on RLA. . Guess they want a big China presence in the day session. How the hell did Golubic make it here? Anyway, one hand backhand means I love her and will cheer her on til the end(which will be this round). The Hobart champ is still around; always good to see. And the Penko is always funny to watch. That bottom section of the draw is OPEN!!!!. Real chance for someone to make an unexpected Semi.
Match of the Day
[1] Swiatek vs. Noskova
World number 1, who has been iffy(very weird for her) vs a Czech player who is quite old at 19.... Noskova made the semis in Brisbane, which is always a good form guide(as long as you don't play Adelaide later RYBAKINA). Also made the final last year at Adelaide. I don't know if this will be close or not. Its Iga, you predict a close match, she will in 6-0, 6-1, to spite you. It should be close. Iga in 3 for me, a very unlikely scoreline when Iga is involved.
Poll...I am thinking about it.....
